              I think they're all good in their own way but the skull one is the most hardcore and serious. If you want a more laid-back feel to your site then go with the cherub.

                          lol I'm going with CurrentlySober's vote.

                          I like the skull for the gaming crowd, because it looks badass and we play the shooter games.

                          But the cheruby guy might be better for branding - everything's got a damn skull on it...

                                                  Not to be a dick, but I'm not a big fan of any of them. They look like weak attempts to use Photoshop when everyone knows logos need to be designed in Illustrator. They used clipart (or just Google Image Search) and added text.

                                                                          If you want a skull I think you can do better than the one remaining.

                                                                          The cherub with a machine gun is an interesting concept that could use more brainstorming to be sure that's the right way of doing it. Is that the best looking cherub with the right gun? You might want to open another contest asking specifically for violent cherubs.

                                                                          The cartoon image above is IMO the best. You could go in that creative direction with the entire project so that the design style of your stuff isn't the same as the game companies are doing with their promo materials. That would give your stuff more of a memorable identity.

                                                                                              i like the cherub and skull for random designs or banners - but I think I'm gonna go with keeping our custom cartoon with touchups and the new font.

                                                                                                              your opinions as a non-designer are definitely good because it helps add a different perspective to it.

                                                                                                              I'm 90% going with our custom cartoon. As much as I like the skull and cherub, I think they could be factored in as banner ads or other graphics for different things on the site or even the game server.

                                                                                                              I agree that the skulls are everywhere and the cherub needs to be thought about some more, whereas the custom toon we had made portrays fun and the best part is that no one else really has that as it was our idea and it could be our identity.

                                                                                                                                              First rule of branding--you do not use multiple "logos". You have ONE logo and it goes on everything. If you're going to use different images, then don't bother with a logo.

                                                                                                                                              And the poster that mentioned that a logo that is mainly clip art and some "bevel and emboss" text is correct that it is not the way to go. That style of "logo" can't be trademarked. Some people don't care about that, but it's something to consider if you do care about protecting your brand.

                                                                                                                                              I really like that latest entry with the cherubs and skull. I don't think you should put the cherubs behind the skull though, as you may be moving closer to infringing the 'Expendables' brand images.

                                                                                                                                                                          DamianJ - it's a gamer site. I had it linked in sig, but forgot to mention it's niche in the thread.

                                                                                                                                                                          Our custom toon has more appeal in the longrun for branding. Like you guys said, as cool as the skulls are, it runs close to the Expendables brand and skulls are everywhere. The cherub might need some more brainstorming, and as much as I've always liked that concept, it may not have that fun appeal nor does it match the name.
