POLL: Obama worse president since WW2
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/news-and-e...ReleaseID=2056
July 2, 2014 - Obama Is First As Worst President Since WWII, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; More Voters Say Romney Would Have Been Better President Barack Obama is the worst president since World War II, 33 percent of American voters say in a Quinnipiac University National Poll released today. Another 28 percent pick President George W. Bush. Ronald Reagan is the best president since WWII, 35 percent of voters say, with 18 percent for Bill Clinton, 15 percent for John F. Kennedy and 8 percent for Obama, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds. Among Democrats, 34 percent say Clinton is the best president, with 18 percent each for Obama and Kennedy. Obama has been a better president than George W. Bush, 39 percent of voters say, while 40 percent say he is worse. Men say 43 - 36 percent that Obama is worse than Bush while women say 42 - 38 percent he is better. Obama is worse, Republicans say 79 - 7 percent and independent voters say 41 - 31 percent. Democrats say 78 - 4 percent that he is better. Voters say by a narrow 37 - 34 percent that Obama is better for the economy than Bush. America would be better off if Republican Mitt Romney had won the 2012 presidential election, 45 percent of voters say, while 38 percent say the country would be worse off. Missing Mitt are Republicans 84 - 5 percent and independent voters 47 - 33 percent, while Democrats say 74 - 10 percent that the U.S. would be worse off with Romney. "Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "Would Mitt have been a better fit? More voters in hindsight say yes." |

White power . |
You have the "worse" grammar since WWII.

Only time will tell the effectiveness of any leader. Polls can be misleading - results of actions taken now will be the best gauge in time as to whether he was the worse or something else. I'm sure even in Lincoln's day the polls wouldn't favor him too much. (Lincoln had won the 1860 election in November with 39.8 percent of the popular vote.) Currently Obama is at 43% and his lowest was oct 2011 it was 38% for his presidential job approval. NOTE: Nixon was at 26% in July 1974
By no means and I comparing Obama or any president to Lincoln - just saying that using current polls may not be the best thing to determine much of anything now. |

don't worry the worse is the next one; you'll find that bush was a genius

LOL always these polls after a new president has been around a few years and usually comes with the same results.
FYI: The president does not run the country, those who do are the congress, senate, lobbyists, the billionaires and the financial institutions. You should not be mad at the president be mad at the system. If you pissed off at the president then you're in a bubble and congratulations to the real people running america for successfully deceiving you. |
Of course he is, he's the sitting President. They said that about Bush when he was the president, when Clinton was president, etc...means nothing. It will change jan2016 when we have a new president.

Yeah...every President has the same thing happen during the 2nd term. All the stuff they do in the first term unravels a bit and the public starts to get "fatigue" with the sitting President.
It usually takes a few years after they leave office for that to turn around. Hell, at the end of his life Richard Nixon was appearing all the time on CNN's Larry King and other interview shows and was treated like a beloved elder statesman. And look at Geoge H.W. Bush. When he was beaten by Clinton in the 1992 election he was ridiculed and pretty much humiliated. Now the press treats him like some kind of national treasure. And Clinton himself...remember at the end of his term he was so hated that even Al Gore wouldn't let him go on the campaign trail with him in 2000 when he ran for President. And the Democrat Party didn't have him speak at the convention that year. Now Clinton is loved by the majority of people. It's always that way for polls. Doesn't mean that a President is doing a good job or a bad job. It's just the way things are. If you ask me...other than the big mansion, the private jet, the private helicopter, getting to pretend to be the "commander in chief" of the military, and traveling all over the world...I think I'd want to quit after one term and let the next guy deal with the bullshit. lol |

Clinton suffered in his second term because of the scandals and doing things like NAFTA and making China a preferred trade partner and for white water. Not because the economy was doing poorly, when it comes to that, the country was in a good place. Obama just has shown no interest in running the country. We're having a crisis of illegal aliens crossing the border and Obama wants money for lawyers and more places to keep them, when most people would think to just stop the illegal aliens from entering the country, then deal what we already have. These kids have not had their shots and many have been quarantined. Yet Obama will not send troops to the border like Gov Perry asked. The VA crisis pissed off every veteran in the country, myself included, he promised to fix that and because of people falsifying documents, we thought they had fixed the system. NSA is still spying on people that they don't have a legal right to do. Lois Lerners emails came up missing and the IRS who had a 1.5 billion a year IT department can't find them. And she is still claiming the 5th. The middle east is going to complete shit in a basket. Even MSNBC is starting to comment on the negative shit going on. Obama's poll numbers going down has only himself to blame |
Reagan was a different animal though Vendzilla
Even though the media went after him like attack dogs...he really was "The Great Communicator" and had that special "something" that made you like him even if you disagreed with what he was doing. He is a very, very rare case. Maybe the only one of his kind except for George Washington and FDR. Not sure if it means he did good things or not. But he definitely had charm. I remember when he was President and I was living with my first wife in Ft. Lauderdale. I was an avid fan of Rolling Stone magazine and their political section. I didn't realize it was so biased...I just thought they were "reporting". So I HATED Reagan at that time. But I swear to God, every time he would address the nation on television...all that would kinda melt away and he'd charm everybody. He just had that gift. |

When Reagan gave a speech, he didn't blame Carter for everything, he didn't blame the Democrats for everything, he brought people together, talked about a great nation, great people, people that can do anything. Obama blames the GOP for not getting anything done, what he really means is he can't get what he wants done and the people that are represented by the GOP in the house and senate don't want him to do and he just won't have that. I was in the middle of the Indian ocean when Reagan took office, everyone cheered that he had won, we were going home because after 444 days of a president that couldn't handle foreign policy, we got Reagan and all those captives went home. When I got out of the military, we were coming out of a recession that many argue was worse in many ways to that Obama had to deal with, but then we had a huge construction boom in LA and I went to work in high rises building elevators. So yeah, you are right, he was a one of a kind, democrats will always blast him, because they couldn't argue against him. He was more of a libertarian than a republican according to today;s standards. He spoke out against the Briggs initiative, before he was president. Stopped a run away inflation Unemployment was at 4.4 when he left office Cold war was coming to a close. And he never bowed to a foreign power He made mistakes, who doesn't? But he's exactly what we need right now! If you ever get a chance, take a tour of the Reagan library, it's in Simi Valley just north west of LA. If you do, give me a shout, I'll meet you there! |

When you get to question 43 they ask what is the most important problem facing the country. #1 with 35% is economy. Politicians and campaigns is next with 12% and the next highest is healthcare at 6%. Here is the interesting thing to me. They ask who the worst president since WW2 has been and Obama is first, followed by GW Bush then Nixon. They also ask who has been the best president since WW2 and Obama ranks 4th behind Clinton, Reagan, and Kennedy. How can he simultaneously be the worst president we have had, yet at the same time be the 4th best? The funniest part is that in that question (who is the best president) republican respondents had him higher than GW Bush, Clinton, Ford, Nixon, Carter, and Jonson and they had him tied with Eisenhower and Truman. |
Vend you a baby boomer?

House of Cards....
|
Fifty-two weeks of economic growth. That's all I'm concerned about.
|
The fact that so many people think Obama is the worst president, is really sad.

Reagan, just like Bush Jr, killed our housing market. Funny how people forget about how fucked up Reagan left our country and just remember his speeches. He was a good actor. As far as policy went he wasn't actually in charge and the housing boom and bust of 89-91 is a good indication of just how much of a puppet he was like Bush to the banks. |

But then again, I was very young and didn't have much thought on politics and what was happening. All I remember was the over all feeling of the country - combined with my age, I felt it was a very optimistic time. |

When President Reagan entered office the national debt was less than 1 trillion dollars and when he left it was around 3 trillion dollars. He also was the first President to borrow money from a foreign country. His administration was the first of the big spenders and every President since has followed with the precedent he set.
|
funny how memory works - back then people called Reagan "simple" and even dangerous...
|
I am of the opinion that President Regan was already suffering with Alzheimer's sometime before he left office and maybe even when he first entered office.

It was President Reagan that was personally responsible for the deaths of 220 Marines in the 1993 Beirut bombing. It was he that over road the advice of his Secretary of Defense not to send troops to Beirut. It was he that ordered them housed as they were...which made them sitting ducks. It was he that ordered them not to have any loaded weapons...which left them defenseless against stopping the truck bomber. He did this because he wanted them to appear as peace keepers not warriors which is what they are trained to be.
Micro management of the military by politicians gets our people killed. |
