Who is Far-L referring to? Other than the Caldwell family, and maybe Ron Levi I can think of only one other person people have suggested has that kind of crazy money from online porn. We are talking about a BILLION dollars - think about it, making 10 million a year AFTER taxes it takes 100 years to save 1 BILLION, ten years of making 100 million a year.

My thoughts exactly. Even if you maintain very low profile some information would leak. For instance some programs or billers would brag about or mention "that guy" who sends them impossible amount of sale etc.

But also, what is an industry worth? If you add in money from a traffic buy, should that be considered?

The number should reflect how many people pay for something outside the industry, not within the industry. And what is the industry? Tittie bars inside the industry?

Online adult sales, magazines, dvds, adult stores, DILDO'S :upsidedow is what I would be referring to and I have a very hard time believing that those sales (everything lumped together) is higher then 2 billion. I don't see how it can be higher then 1 billion really.

Manwin claimed to make 100 million per year. Fabian said they represent 5% of the industry give or take. That puts the 2 billion per year figure. But most of that money is from other people buying ads, not the end consumer paying for memberships, chat, dating, etc.

Now you consider who buys these ads, are they making money? You can't just give money from person A, to person B, then say that money adds to the value of an industry.

It's all just guessing though... but I think most would agree the value is shrinking.

Years ago during the best years of this industry I saw CCBILL's gross sales for a year, they were in some kind of official document, seemed legit. So I did a rough estimate at what percentage of online porn sales at the time were going through CCBILL vs Merchant accounts vs Epoch and the other few smaller third party processors. My estimate was 4 Billion in sales back then for the online adult industry, paysites. We are down way under 50% from those days so Beaner's estimate is close - 1-2 Billion.

Fabian had a pretty decent argument that the over all sales amount is actually up. Traffic is up as the third world is still coming online so it takes more traffic to make a sale but the traffic is there.

I would like to meet a billionaire, sometime. That'd be interesting. Here is this guy who controls the equivalent of 1000s of average man's life work. Right there in his hands. I cannot even imagine what I would do with that kind of power. I could do a lot of good with that, for sure.. and, maybe, some bad... some bad, against some bad people, of course :)

The most important thing I would do would be to take a deep breath, exhale from deep within my soul, and fucking RELAX. I would sit still somewhere for a WEEK eating steaks and salads and watching my programs somewhere QUIET where no one could bother me, at all. Just peace and quiet and my programs and good food and PEACE.

Another thing I would do would be to cause some people I know to be able to do the same thing. People need a chance to breathe and so many of us never get it. In my case, yeah it is my fault, but I broke my own soul and wallet trying to be everything to everyone.. and I did some stupid things, I suppose.

There are a couple of billionaires in my area. I think I should try to see if I can meet one of them. Maybe I could get a tiny peace of their weight behind me. I could do amazing shit. Or maybe I could learn something from them.

No. There are no billionaires on GFY. There are maybe 3 people here with net assets in the 9 figures, but none in the 10.

A lot of people made a lot of money in this business.. and there is no reason to think that at least some of them didn't transition into mainstream shit and make even more.... I would think it'd be more likely than unlikely to have at least one or two billies on here. But, that IS a million bucks a THOUSAND times.. . So who knows.

A better way to look at is $50 million/yr after taxes for 20 years. So starting in 1993, if someone brought in a net of $50,000,000 every year on average through this year, he would have a net worth of $1 billion. Who do you know on GFY who has done this?

I think it's possible that maybe one or two people on GFY have a net worth of about $500 million. But even that's pushing it. $500,000,000 puts you at the same net worth as Vince McMahon and Tiger Woods.
