What words do you hate saying?

Vehicular for me, it just sounds so ... ugly.

Anyone else get weird saying certain things? :(

Drawer is a word that sounds vastly different depending where you are in the US. My step-mother is from brooklyn and she pronounces it like "Draw." My friends from Philly say "Draw-er" and I pronounce is as "Droor"

Silent D?

Your wife complains about the same thing, amirite?

Burn.

gransonik 07-24-2013 08:06 AM

The german word for director = Regisseur.

I have no fucking idea why we use a word that came from the french. Fuck that :321GFY

slapass 07-24-2013 08:16 AM

I hate hearing "chew" in songs where it is substituted for you. I get it but it sounds super ghetto. And personally, I can't use "baby momma". Again it is descriptive but I always thought it was derogatory.

For some reason that was the hardest word for me when I was younger. I have always been pretty good with language but that one would trip me up until my late pre-teens.

Dankasaur 07-24-2013 11:27 AM

Aluminum. Someone kept fucking around one day saying different versions of it like all-loo-me-um and other ways, and now it's all fuckery in my head.

CaptainHowdy 07-24-2013 11:32 AM

"None" ...

Get an American to say it and then get a British person to say it. It is totally different tongue action..lol

Scott McD 07-24-2013 12:30 PM

All i hear on UK tv these days is people replacing "th" in words with "f".

"I fink there's somefing down there"

"who finks there's free or four of them"

And i don't just mean general public on tv. Presenters are doing it aswell.

Why are we allowing these people to talk like fucking morons on tv ?? No wonder kids these days can't talk for shit...

so i assume you don't like Sister Sledge?

KaliC 07-24-2013 12:48 PM

Too much cussing is annoying to hear, any sentence that has more then two slang words in it is just sad.

Traditionally, Americans don't pronounce the D and the Brits do. Not sure what you mean about my wife complaining about anything, because I've never been married. If you're going to insult strangers on the internet, I suggest using material from outside your own universe, however much a wonderland it is.

kadudu 07-24-2013 01:21 PM

congregate. just hate that word for some reason.

CDSmith 07-24-2013 01:58 PM

I cringe when people say "AM in the morning", as in "Some idiot blew his horn at 5 AM in the morning and woke me up". You either say AM, or morning, saying both is redundant. (and stupid)

I want to hit someone when they say month-year-old, like "I have a five month-year-old daughter". Dear morons, it's month-old. Saying it the other way is just trailerparkspeaking at it's dumbest.

ya, like people would not know that AM is morning.. hahaha I have heard so many people say shit like that and it drives me nuts. You either say 5AM or 5 in the morning. 5am in the morning just makes you sound like a complete retard.

brassmonkey 07-24-2013 02:39 PM
