But curious on that pic from a photography aspect - what's up with the blur on the top part on her hair vs sharpness of jacket & such? Is that a DoF thing or from some retouching?

Some pix were shot with a heavy DOF, although they are just random quick and dirty chops for the model to get some immediate feedback, so some of the focus issues might be partly due to my so-so Photoshop skills.
