"Not getting into a long debate on the whys just saying it how it is

1st - joke of a justice system ....honestly I really can't believe how much of a joke it really is

2nd - how our culture takes a back seat to immigrant culture.....we are so worried of offending a certain religion or culture that we will change our own

3rd - universal health care..... Waiting times are crazy it just dosent work..... Me or none of my family of 5 have a family doctor and if I needed an important surgery or specialized equipment I'm looking at a wait time of min 8 months

4 - how much of my our money is going to native people... Like seriously enough is enough me or my family never made any treaties we are all Canadians and should be treated equal .... No more special treatment with court cases ( how crazy is that) just because they are native they get a more lenient sentence ..... By LAW.....puke.

5 - our military........ Seriously I don't need to explain here .... Nothing against our soilders ...... Best in the world IMO .... Just the lack of funding and equipment etc....

#1. Compare people in prison in the USA to Canada, it's 10 to 1, yet we have less crime?
seems the justice system works better than the US one.....

#2. Canada celebrates multiculturalism, it's a different approach than America where you give it up to become American.

#3. Health care works. Sick people get treated, operations happen. The system works. My Dad got a quad bypass when he needed it. I got helath care when I needed it. Canada has less debt per person than America and a health care system envied by the world. You're an idiot if you think we have bad health care, we have great health care and no one goes bankrupt or looses their house cause they can't pay their doctor bills. I know MANY Americans who lost their homes and virtually everything to pay their medical bills.

#4 Actually natives are a small percentage of the population. Are there problems, yes, but both natives and the government are trying to move forward and make it better. In Canada our native population is similar to the black ghettos in the USA, but we give them healthcare, housing, welfare checks and free education to try and break the cycle. What exactly does America do for the black people in the ghettos? oh yeah, gun laws so they can all shoot each other dead......

#5. I agree our military is underfunded. We're friendly with most nations, it's America that everyone wants to kill.


Given the choice to live in the USA or Canada, I'd pick Canada. I don't mean this in a bad way and I pray it doesn't happen, but one of the nations you've pissed off is going to sneak in a nuke and vaporize one of your cities very soon. IT'LL HAPPEN. I'm happy in Canada.

The most important and prolific inventor the world has ever known came from Canadian ancestry.

Thomas Alva Edison was the last son of Canadian Samuel Edison - (Samuel born in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia). The Edison family came to Canada as United Empire Loyalists after the Americans arrested them for treason and sentenced them to death. In effect, if it weren't for the Edison family finding refuge and re-establishing in Canada...the Americans likely would have killed them - thus ending the lineage that eventually produced the inventor Thomas Edison.

The Edison family only moved (back) to the United States after taking part in the unsuccessful MacKenzie Rebellion in the mid 1800s. And still they faced charges and threats to deport them back to Canada.

Thomas Edison was simply born in America due to political circumstance back in Canada.

I would also like to add a comment as to why it sucks to be Canadian.
I am Canadian, and I live in Capital City of the country. Nearly impossible to get a job here unless you speak the minority french language. Even jobs like a Garbage Truck guy who throws trash into the back requires being fluent in English and french, reading, writing and speaking.. It's horrible.

That is why I got into the adult biz. I can't find any jobs here because I am automatically shut out due to the fact that I only speak the MAJORITY language.
Luckily, USA is truly a land of freedom and I am able to work for USA over the internet while residing in Canada.

Canada doesn't seem to want me, so I will quite happily contribute to helping the US economy. :)

Not entirely true. Not all of us live in the past, some of us are just proud and secure enough in our own Country that we don't feel a need to belittle someone else's beliefs, or disrespect their country, on a message board pissing contest.

I'd bet most American and Canadian citizens alike are hardly properly represented on this board. The few continually vocal people are basically a subset of the "uneducated and/or no-life" cultures which unfortunately can be found on either side of the border.

First off you're full of shit. Second, how sad are you that you can't get a job in a country where the unemployment rate is under 7%. Instead of blaming a country why you can't find work take some responsibility and find a job. I've been steady employed since I was 14 years old here.

Its not just Ottawa. The only real jobs available are with various level of government - and you have to be bilingual to qualify for any of them.
