When i was in the Philippines in the city of Cebu, there were armed guards everywhere. Starbucks had an armed guard with a really nice chrome shotgun. The mall checked you for guns on your way in. When we arrived at our hotel, the cab was checked for bombs. When we entered the hotel we were again checked for weapons.

I guess this is the way the world is headed.

There are staggering differences between accidental automobile deaths and intentional murders with handguns. Maybe we should be staircases and pools too.

Then again, maybe you have a point. We have to pass multiple tests to get a driver's license, and we have to renew it every year or every four years. We also have to register our cars every year and in some states have them inspected... Maybe we should do the same with firearms!

Cars were invented with the main purpose of driving and getting from one point to another. Consider how many people have cars and how many used them correctly and what the death ratio is to miles driven.
