21 People Die In Chicago Nightclub from Chemical
Sad story, but look on why they really died, do you think it would happen if duckin RIDGE would keep is fuckin mouth shut and not scare the living shit out of people?
http://www.abcnews.go.com/wire/US/ap20030217_809.html By the way Ridge said he will lower the alert color |
Idiot kids,,,
Morons.. I wanna just go a kick somebody,, that is horrible |
What does that have to do with Ridge? It's just a matter of someone spraying pepper spray in an enclosed space. If there is a fan or any kind of air movement in the room, people will be affected and there will probably be a stampede.

Do you understand what type of panic has to be going on to have so many people crushed to death, I mean this is an outrage |
I agree, its a horrible thing that happened, but what does it have to do with the color of the alert?
People panic, no matter what alert is out. I hate packed places like that. Its an accident waiting to happen. Especially when most of the people are fucked up to begin with. |

its been the lead story over here for most of the day. They had a reporter from one of the chicago radio stations on and he said some of the people he interviewed from the club said some of the people were panicing thinking there was an attack. How true that is is a different matter but that is what he said.
|
It is a bit assumptious to say if the terror alert was lower, this would not have happened, but I definitely agree that these alerts could put panic in people's minds and assume pepper spray was something else.
If I thought a poison was being sprayed, I'd be getting fuck out of there too. I've been in a club where pepper spray was used by someone, it just pissed people off. That was a few years ago. It is definitely strange hundreds of people would panic because of pepper spray. |

its like a herd of cattle, on of them gets spooked your gonna have a stampeede.
"There were more than 1,500 people in the two-story Epitome Night Club on the city's South Side when someone released pepper spray or Mace into the air sometime after 2 a.m., " If someone releases pepper spray in the room, I dont think people are running because of the nations alert status,,, I think "air" was what they wanted to get to. |

the last thing i would think about if someone sprayed pepper spray would be a terrorist. you'd just want to get the fuck out.

The terror alert probably didn't cause those deaths, but it sure couldn't have helped.

It's total bullshit for a pregnant woman to go somewhere like a nightclub till 2:30 am, where people drink, do drugs, and nasty shit CAN happen very quickly. It's an unnecessary risk. The problem with some women is that they get pregnant and can't face the fact that they're not living JUST for themselves anymore. If you can't handle the fact that you're gonna have to make some lifestyle changes for your unborn child, then for fuck's sake... DO NOT GET PREGNANT. Thank you. Good night. :feels-hot |

that same thing happened when i was at Club Living about a year and a half ago (just after 9/11)... i took off my shirt and held it over my mouth, no big deal... cops and ambulance evacuated the place (about 500 people min)... nobody got trampled or died... what a bunch of morons they are.
btw, i love the fact that a pregnant woman was in a smokey nite club at 2am - prolly whacked out on crack too... hello??? |
EscortBiz, don't let 12clicks bother you... I learned long ago he's not worth the effort. He makes his living talking shit on message boards... that's basically what he has to offer. Except when it comes to me. I'm sure he'll have some nice words for me in a bit... we have a wonderful relationship. :thumbsup
As for this comment: "Must not be very small clubs you are going to. If pepper spray is used in an enclosed space, it burns. People panic when their throats and eyes burn. Trust me, it has absolutely nothing to do with that silly terror alert." All of this is just us sitting on a chat board and guessing, but I can't remember ever hearing of 21 people being trampled to death before this because of pepper spray in the air. So yeah, it seems likely that the terrorist threat in general is involved in this scenario. That said, the alternative is to not warn people when there's credible evidence of a possible terrorist strike, and I'm quite certain it wouldn't sit well with Americans if thousands died after the government knew there was evidence of a possible attack and said nothing. So while I do think the threat level played in to the deaths, I think the people ultimately responsible for the deaths are the trampling, panicking masses who packed into that night club. |

wonder who you were before "connor 5 posts" (I don't really wonder) |

Panic breeds panic...say you didn't notice the spray at first but you see people stampeeding to the door in a mass panic. Most people panic when they see people panicing. They don't stop to reason out what it is. |

She was there cause she was a gangster |

It's not a matter of what I believe, I just don't think that we should judge her based on the fact that she was out at a night club.:2 cents: |

I'll be the judge.:winkwink: |
don't people know that nite clubs have a risk element attached?
just this past friday nite, some guy got gunned down right in front of the club we were at (Bubbles) on St. Laurent - we came out around 3:30am and the cops had the whole street section taped off and were taking pics of the scene while the ambulance crew were bagging and tagging the body. and i live in Montreal, not Chicago or NYC, where it must be 100x worse... call me old fashioned, but it ain't no place for a girl who's preggers, even if she was "drinking water" (to wash down her E or speed perhaps)... LOL :1orglaugh |

But I will address some of the things you said: 1) Crossing the street, going to the mall, and driving a car CAN indeed be harmful. But these are things we NEED to do in most cases. Not the same as going to a nightclub where drunks can get into fights and knock you down, depending on where you live, there may be smokers and second hand smoke in the air; and shit like pple slipping you something in your drink or even like everyone is saying here... spraying pepper spray in the air. Totally unnecessary and uncalled for when you are with child. 2) I don't agree with pregnant women as content, but again, we may be talking NECESSITY there. They may need the money to support their coming child, who knows? So I won't judge those women. But any woman who thinks a nightclub PACKED with over 1000 people is SAFE is just fucking STUPID. So yes, I will judge that woman. She shouldn't have been there! Period. Once she got to the entrance and saw how packed it was, she should have turned around and left. It's called lack of better judgement. And she paid the price. Sadly, so did her unborn child for her stupidity. :2 cents: :2 cents: And that is worth my 4 cents. |

I stand by my statements and you can stand by yours, I just think judging someone based on the fact that she was in a nightclub is unfair. Not sure about the smoke laws out there, but here 99% of the bars are smoke free, if your at a ghetto bar then you can expect fights, but that is normally not the case...like I said I may not agree with it, but I am simply not going to judge her because she was at the wrong place at the wrong time! |
