LA and Porn Valley are FREAKING OUT over the recent Syphilis outbreak, supposedly brought on by some US male performers who went to Europe, got the Clap and are now spreading it throughout the adult film community. Supposedly these outbreaks started with black performers who visited Europe, did some scenes then came back to the US to work again and spread this shit.

So who's to blame? Should their names be released so the rest of the active Adult Community can know and protect itself? Or should everyone just "keep quiet", respect the tainted performers' privacy and let the rest of us play "Syphilis Roulette"?

Hey maybe YOU aren't "freaking out" but I know for a fact (after having communicated with over a dozen active pornstars) that people ARE INDEED freaking out.

The Free Speech Coalition has called for ALL porn productions, pro and amateur, to STOP while this is sorted out.

What authority does FSC have over production? Production is going on like business as usual.

I don't know if the story will get bigger but I want him punished even if I have to file court papers (win or lose) to make it a matter of public record.

What he did was to only work for people that trusted him as well as female talent that really wanted to work with him. Before we started shooting, I laid out everyone's test along with their IDs for talent to do inspection. The girl didn't even look at his test and wanted to "get started already". That's why I kept a copy of his test. Unfortunately, she is now in Florida working until next month and I haven't been able to reach her. I did inform some of the guys she was/is fucking off camera so that they can get tested.

Keep watching, What happens Monday is going to determine the course of this story He could very well be arrested and he may also be sued civilly.

A lot of people are very pissed off and if the FSC tries to obscure the truth in any way it could get VERY ugly.

I haven't seen any freaking out either, but production is not "...going on like business as usual". I cancelled both my shoots this weekend, and am not planning on shooting again until it seems safe to do so--which seems merely prudent. I know a lot of other producers aren't shooting until the smoke clears.

I did some reading about syphillis (here: http://www.cdc.gov/std/syphilis/stdfact-syphilis.htm) and one thing that does concern me was this, "The time between infection with syphilis and the start of the first symptom can range from 10 to 90 days (average 21 days)." So what does that mean in terms of testing? If someone who worked with a syphillis positive performer a week ago, and tests clean tomorrow, does that mean they really are clean? Or should there be some quarantine period before retesting, and if so, how long should it be?

From what I remember, you can show negative with the clap for weeks and weeks after the initial infection. And you can spread it during this incubation time.

I don't know everyone in the business but I checked the bookings at 5 locations that I normally use and only 2 days are open this week. A company may say they've stopped production but some have independent producers trying to meet deadlines. Therefore, production continues on behalf of the client.

Yes all professional performers names should be reported to public or at least all of us content producers to avoid hiring these guys while they are infected.

Not reporting these guys is negligence at its finest.

Some productions are going on as usual. Others are being cancelled. Some companies are saying they are on a 21 day suspension of production. Talent should contact the producers directly.

"Mr Fargas" hereafter known as "douchebag" comes to a shoot on July 6th with a doctored test. Douchebag not only works that day but works between then and now.

Imagine the number of people possibly impacted.

There are a lot of questions that need to be asked & answered.

Anyone wiling to put one person at this level of risk let alone numerous people should never work in this industry again IMHO.
