What famous people/celebs have you met in person?

I met Joe Cocker back in '82, one cool guy I must say. All the while I was talking with him and his small entourage of hot women I was thinking "this fucker was at Woodstock"... I was talking and shaking hands with living history.

Met Sheryl Crow once, back during my concert security days. She was pretty cool as well, but that dog of hers was insanely cool, and smart as hell.

You?

rhon23 08-17-2012 03:21 PM

I used to live across the street from Leonardo DiCaprio and have met a lot of famous people but the one person I was floored by was Mark Mothersbaugh from DEVO. I am such a huge fan.

L-Pink 08-17-2012 03:21 PM

Someday I hope to meet JohnnyClips.

I used to write for a music magazine in the early 90's so I have met a ton of musicians that were around at that time.

Among the coolest:
Neil Young
Tom Waits
Kurt Cobain
Cameron Crowe
Kim Thayil

Had an situation with Liz Phair that ended up with her kissing me and my stupidity making me locally famous for a couple of days lol.

Being from the Northwest I met/interviewed most of the local popular bands from that era including Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, The Fastbacks, Hazel. POTUS and many others..

For a few months I lived in the house know as the Rathouse where the bands Seven Year Bitch and The Gits lived. That place was a revolving door of Seattle area musicians. It was a crazy, but fun couple of months. The funny part of that is when I lived there it was a rundown house in a old neighborhood that looked like a squatter's place. Now it is a nice neighborhood and that house is probably worth $800K or more.

In the late 90s I worked in the film industry for a few years and met a few famous people including Robert Deniro and Harvey Keitel.

SilentKnight 08-17-2012 03:45 PM

Paul Henderson (scored the winning goal in '72 Canada/Russia Summit hockey series)
K.T. Oslin (country singer)
Dave Keon (Toronto Maple Leafs)
Garney Henley (CFL - Hamilton Ti-Cats quarterback)
Saga (all the band members)

...and depending on how you define famous/celebs - many adult industry models, performers, producers, photographers, etc. My favorite was Nina Hartley - we did a shoot with her for AOV years ago when she was hired as our company/industry spokesperson.

AnniKN 08-17-2012 03:49 PM

Alfonso Cuarón. He directed the third Harry Potter and Children of God. Met a bunch more but they're so unfamous really, lol.

When I was a kid I met Glenn Danzig. I was rather sad to discover that he's a midget.

Mutt 08-17-2012 04:33 PM

John Candy
Paul Newman
Kim Catrall
Jack Kemp
Senator Alan Simpson
Tom Cruise
John McEnroe
Sting

actually i've met a ton, but depends if you're saying you were in the same room and said 'hi, i'm a fan' or whether you had an actual conversation and hung out with the celeb. i've met many many NHL players, quite a few NFL, a few NBA and baseball players.

Senator Alan Simpson was the best, my sister and I went on a sight seeing trip to Washington, to see the Vietnam Memorial and all that stuff. We went to the Senate office building and damn, back then which was the mid 80's, seemed to be no security at all. We just walked through the halls past all the senators' personal offices, was hoping to see Ted Kennedy, poked our heads in his office, talked to his secretary. We got in an elevator and there was this tallish bald headed man, greeted us with a warm smile and I instantly recognized him from CNN,CSPAN,etc. I said 'You're Senator Simpson from Wyoming', he smiled and replied 'You got me' and then asked us about ourselves and what we were doing, studying in school, where we were from etc. When he got to his floor, he took the time and showed us around.

eroticsexxx 08-17-2012 04:34 PM

I've met quite a few and even had a relationship with an 'a-list' celeb. By the time the 7th month mark rolled around, it just fizzled out. We still have some ties due to a common business agreement.

She didn't suck cock, do anal or even doggy-style. She didn't even know how to talk dirty. Sex was straight missionary and if she came first, she would tell me to get off of her. Yet, she did a nude shoot that was featured in Playboy :1orglaugh

She also would incessantly ask me if I fucked anyone else since the last time I saw her.

At first I was like, WTF, but then I came to the realization that people like her who grew up as celebs have no concept of "ordinary" behavior. I guess that's why when people diss Paris, Linds, Kim or any of the other socialites, I know that they just don't understand that those girls live in a completely different world and have a completely different mentality that most people don't.

gtjeremy 08-17-2012 04:37 PM

Bobby Lee
Skrillex
Snoop Dog (Lion)

:thumbsup

Spunky 08-17-2012 04:37 PM

Michael J Fox
John Travolta (was in public and no steam room)
Flava Flav recently

you wanna talk about midgets, Tom Cruise, he was at a restaurant I was at, I'm not a tall guy myself - he is real short, super short, not even sure he's 5'5". his bio probably lists him at 5'9" - that seems to be the size all really short guys think they get away with lying at.

It's amazing how little guys like that can appear to be much larger on film.

I ran into Sylvester Stallone in a strip club in Vegas and he as a shorty too. I was shocked at how little he was. On screen he always looks like a hoss.

On the flip side, met Tony Robbins once and he is a giant. He has me by at least 6 or 7 inches. But he was cool as hell and stopped everything he was doing to talk to me and my friend for a few minutes and gave us his full attention. The guy has total focus. Very intense.

Have met too many musicians to name.

Wikipedia and every other bio online lists Tom Cruise as 5' 7". If you are not even sure then why bother just making up your own bad estimate and imaginary bio numbers?

Shortlist it and give us the highlight reel.

Addendum to my first post:

I've also met in person ---

Bobby Hull
Anders Hedberg
Ulf Neilson
Chris Bordeleaux
--- all former members of the original Winnipeg Jets WHA team.

In '78 I shook hands with Prince Andrew (yes THE prince Andrew, aka "Randy Andy") at the Commonwealth games in Edmonton. His hand was soft, no calices as I recall. No field hand or oyster shucker was he.

scuba steve 08-17-2012 05:44 PM

Bobby Hull

Way back they used to give free tickets to the WHL back in the early 70's at a local grocery chain.my mom would scoop em up and me and buddies would go.
I got Bobby Hulls autograph twice during a pregame sign up. Mom threw out all my hockey memorabilia when she threw me out at 18
So cool back then as WHL was trying to start up .Didn't get Gordie Howe and his sons when the Hartford Whalers were around

you sound a little butt hurt that i presumed Tom and his people lie about height by 4" rather than 2". which is weird, this is an adult webmaster board and Tom nor his fans read it. and i am being generous when i said he appeared to be be 5'5".

interesting, i always wondered why a lot of leading men in Hollywood were short. Paul Newman was only 5'9".

then i was was watching some entertainment biz tv program and the subject came up - they said that back in the golden age of Hollywood where the studios themselves recruited actors and signed them to exclusive contracts they wanted short to medium height males, because the typical female Hollywood star was petite and it was much easier to frame shots with a male and female lead who were close to the same height.

escorpio 08-17-2012 10:56 PM

A lot of rock stars and Charlie Sheen.

ExtremeBank_Adam 08-17-2012 11:08 PM

We've met quite a few, but not necessarily huge names. Some are big to us simply because we follow motorcycle racing quite closely.

Some pics of Alysha with:

Carey Hart (Pink's hubby):

Hulk Hogan - We are friends with radio host Bubba the Love Sponge, who was Hogan's best buddy:

John Hensley (Matt from the show Nip/Tuck) - Also a motorcycle racing fan:

Kimbo Slice:

Vince Neil - He and Alysha both judged a bikini contest together in Mexico:

And, some racing faves...
Former MotoGP World Champ Kevin Schwantz:

Former World Superbike Champ James Toseland:

Personal favorite... nine time world champion Valentino Rossi:

We also know the Hayden brothers (Roger, Tommy & Nicky), and bought Nicky's H2 from him in 2006, the year he won the MotoGP World Championship:

I recall hearing that during the shooting of 'Shane' - they had to dig a trench in the ground for the other actors because Alan Ladd was so short.
