oscer 02-25-2012 01:30 PM

Those little things are death traps and they are way expensive for what they are

Helluva deal. 3 year lease. 0 down and $99.00 a month. I prepaid the lease for $4012.00 total so there was no interest added. My Panamera gets about 12mpg, and my AMG does 14mpg. IfI drive this to the office twice a week it pays for itself at today's gas prices. And it's actually fun to drive.

The chicks are going to dig it

I'm 6' and there is at least 6" of headroom. It's a lot roomier inside than my Lambo.

I think there's a lot of misconception about the size of a car and the amount of room for tall people. Smaller cars are generally designed with this in mind. One of the cars I had the most leg room in was a Miata, and I'm 6'4.

You have a garage that has cars most people envy (except maybe Bill Marriott, his garageS are sick), and your smart car is what is getting you wet. You're going too LA Minte.

There is something very satifying about driving past a gas station and not stopping. :)

Can you donate me your old lambo then? :)

Nice new Smart car dude - As for the above video I didn't watch but from memory its a smart car hitting a non deformable concrete barrier at 80mph executed by the show 5th Gear in the UK.

NCAP in Europe, the governing body for the testing and classification of the saftey of cars doesn't actually crash cars over 40mph in any non deformable test as its considered non survivable. I was amazed at how the smart stood up, as I recall you could still open one of the doors. There are far many cars on the road that are way more of a death trap than a smart, I'd drive one anyday, and as you say driving past gas stations is fun, filling up is a ball ache.

ErectMedia 02-25-2012 04:40 PM

I dig small cars and good gas mileage as I drive a honda 27-32 mpg normally but have pushed 40 on expressway with cruise on, that one just a little too small for my comfort. Around town no problem but getting on expressway etc... I'd pass. Your dough so if it makes ya happy all that matters :thumbsup

biskoppen 02-25-2012 04:44 PM

Congrats on your new car, I think its a good buy.. don't listen to the haters.

Relentless 02-25-2012 05:22 PM

How in the world is that a girly car?!

Their ad slogan should be:
"Any jackass can get laid driving a Lamborghini, only a real man can get laid driving a SmartCar" TM

MaDalton 02-25-2012 05:58 PM

i have been driving a Smart in the past a couple of times and while it's not my thing personally, everyone who keeps saying they won't fit in or they're unsafe has no clue.

Yeah but with your collection some poor local gas station is going to go out of business then. Don't be mad when Occupy Minte gains momentum.

Barry-xlovecam 02-25-2012 07:00 PM

How high could you pick it up?

Did it come with a free shoehorn to get in it?

Chris 02-25-2012 07:03 PM

No.. I prepaid the entire 36 month lease for $4200.

abshard 02-25-2012 07:43 PM

my wife has a 09 smart that i drive all the time, its okay i just dont like the transmission. Its very slow to react if you want to accelerate when your in automatic mode especially after you have just slowed down and want to accelerate again.

Chosen 02-25-2012 08:26 PM

Congrats :thumbsup

mineistaken 02-25-2012 08:44 PM

Nice that you are saving fuel - the more we save the better for us and worse for OPEC. And laught at the haters :)

Wow, first Minte thread ever where I feel smug self satisfaction and not guilt at not working hard enough.

Thx, dude!

PS - I have a giant pick up truck from the 80's that rules.

I remember minte

2MuchMark 02-25-2012 09:26 PM

Congrats on your ride!

Don't listen to the haters especially those who call them death traps. They have to pass the same crash tests as all other cars, and like all modern cars are made to crumple to disperse as much energy as possible away from the driver in a crash. You dun good.

I just bought a 1990 Chevy Stepside I'm restoring. It's a blast. Jacked up, 33 inch tires... Taking my kid to school in the morning now means "over the river and through the woods" - no roads required.
