As a Producer - Do you tell first time porn girls that their parents will probably find out?
 

It never ceases to amaze me - Almost every newbie I shoot has the same justification for doing porn: "My parents don't watch porn, why would they find out?"

For every girl that enters the biz wanting to be the next Jenna Jameson there are 20 who want to keep it a secret.

This is a HUGE issue for recruiting new porn girls - they ALL think they are going to get away with it. They live in this fantasy world that because they are away from home, and that there are millions of porn sites, that none of their friends or families back home will discover their naughty videos.

I'm so sick of the traumatic drama when parents find out and girls calling up crying...now I just tell them the truth before their first shoot: Girls - everyone is going to find out. 90 percent chance... maybe 95

They all do but because the desire for money trumps all.. but great question and you know whats funny.. they argue with me about it "No I really don't think my parents will find out" "Why would they find out?"

They don't believe me haha

So I tell them: "Ok if you really don't want to be discovered then you MUST IMMEDIATELY delete your facebook account (and model mayhem myspace etc)" Then they REALLY argue with me - they LOVE their Facebook so much they can't bring themselves to delete it...

So a few weeks later their links are on Freeones and SURE ENOUGH there is their Facebook and MM links alongside their porn - BAM their whole home town knows overnight.

Freeones, Peachy Forum and FB are the main reasons girls get busted.

Does it ever occur to you guys that putting up REAL NAME facebook and MM links not only exposes the girls but could put them at risk for stalking and possible assault?

I realize your staff doesnt do it but you could easily block those links.

We dont put up real names anymore for a while now as I fully agree on that.

Girls can also have their bios blocked for editing.

You guys most certainly have links to FB and MM accounts that expose the models mainstream stagename (and/or real name) and real hometown and social contacts - highly unethical in my opinion.

I would like to see no links unless it was the obvious official PORNSTAR social networking page.

When I interview a new girl, after she sends the pix for consideration, I ask who has the pix...after finding out that many have them, I tell her its pretty much all over at that point. Water under the bridge, nothing to be done for it. Even if it is not, I tell them I will not sell their content but it will be up in many places.

A few years back I shot a Korean porn starlet who quit after her dad called her on it. Seems he wanked to porn and found his daughter one day...

All adult related sites should keep porn world and real world very very separate. Very.
Its not cool when they merge. I've had several tearful calls about it and its not fun. We are especially impacted because we use primarily noobs and very non pros. Most want to shoot, get paid and are in and out in less than 1 year.

I think huge free sites should have pron links, gallery links ONLY. I see some sites that have many links that lead to pirated content in addition to FB and MM. Not cool.

every one of them is told they'll be found nude on the Internet, whether it's literally 5 minutes after a site launches as in Dawson Miller's case or years as in Andi Pink's case. Some girls have low profile real lives so it can take awhile before anybody they know sees them.

and the ones who tell people about what they're doing are the first to get caught. those ones are imbeciles.

as for family - every one of the models i've had anything to do with have loving families who quickly got over the shock that their daughter was nude on the Internet. and that's the way it should be - this isn't Iran.

Actually many photogs and producers tell the models they will most likely NOT be found out, although I doubt any will say as much in this thread. In fact I worked with a photog recently who's exact words to a first time model were "The chances of your parents finding out are slim to none" - I had to pull her aside later and tell her this was a lie.

I ask all the models I swhoot if they would have problems if family or friends find out.

Some family know what they do.

I ask as I do not want 24 hours later to get a call saying I have changed my mind, or threats from family.

One girl I shoot is a full time nurse. I have told her she is daft as they will sack her if they find out. She does not care.

The problem is if you run your own site and get emails asking to have the pics pulled.

I have often said to models that a lot of sites will use there pics on fhg's and as such be all over the web.

About 20% of models I shoot will never be in fhg's or in promo stuff and only in the members area, simply as I know that they are not models and only did it for fun and I do not want them to get any grief later in life.

I find some models deside to just do nude (when they were doing full b/g shoots). One model contacted me about a nude shoot. I said your al;l over the web in b/g shots on fhg's. Why would I shoot you just nude? I said your on the tube sites.

By the way, in the UK girls are realy looked down on who do porn.

If you watch UK and USA tv shows, you will see that usa do 'promote' the models a lot more than the uk tv does. go on any uk tv chat show as a porn model and they rip you up.

i do not think you would ever get such as the avn awards in the uk as there would be very few places that would alow you to put on such a show.

One girl I worked with, when I told her she may very well get found out, she said I don't care! So Im like great...

So I shot with her hella times and one day I found some of the pirated pics for free on a site with someone claiming to be her boyfriend writing about how he can tell from what tats she has in the pics that she had cheated on him and how she looks like a whore on the site and he doesn't appreciate it because she isnt a whore... blah blah... (but she is a whore, i had to stop working with her on account she barebacks randos like theres no tomorrow). Im sure its him because she mentioned at one point she did have a bf who found out.

That's what we try to do already (and was/is the intention when added), so let me put in a note to the reviewers to take better note of what they add.

i'd say it's 100% they will find out, once there is a shoot posted on an FHG then that's it, it's virtually impossible to remove that model from the web. We always warn them that one day anyone important to them will find out, even if they are dressed in drag!

No, I do not tell them that because it rarely happens.

I've shot over 130 women over the years. The only time, to my knowledge, a parent found out was.... either the girl told them (because they have an open relationship).... or they told a brother/friend and when they had gotten in some spat they narc'ed em out. That being said, it's happened maybe 3 times ever in the better part of a decade.

Now, I can't speak for mainstream porn where you are going to get more exposure and run the chance of being the new "it" girl. As that could always play a role in things. However, for niche and fetishes, unless your friends/family have one (fetish). The odds of being found are rare.

I would say, I am taking your pictures, they will be on multiple porn sites on the net. They should be able to draw some kind of conclusion about this using common sense.

In my experience a girl has to have been living under a rock for the last 10 years if she doesn't know she will be found. Free porn has been heavy for 10 years, so boys of 12 who started looking at it and talking about it in class, will now be 22. Think that through.

My 9 year old knows there are pictures of naked girls on the Internet from friends. Soon she will hear stories of girls being found out. True or not, these stories are still swapped around the class rooms.

Aden unless you're recruiting in Outer Mongolia, I reckon girls know about naked girls on the Internet. I told you before not to take everything a girl trying to earn $500 a day at face value. :thumbsup

When its only about the Girl needing money...I never shoot them.

I found most girls were looking for excitement and wanted to be naughty.

I've only shot about 70 girls in 5 years, but only 1 or 2 of them ever asked about money.

I always paid the girls, but they NEVER asked about money before the shoot.

It also depends on where you live.

Highly doubt that average looking amateur model from a small Russian town is going to be found by her parents.

One thing I've learnt over the years is that girls simply do not hear anything they don't want to hear at the time. There is no downside to telling them every time, in great detail that they will for sure get found out. In fact, it helps. Tell a girl she won't get found out and she'll assume something is hinky as it's all too good to be true and that you are just a zero who's bought a camera to see girls naked.

At the time they agree to the first shoot they're normally more worried about being scammed by the photographer than that the pictures will actually get seen.

I don't think there's any point trying to second guess what a girls motivations are, all you can do is make sure you got the info across so it leaves no wriggle room for later.

A lot of times girls get found out because they tell just one person who they trust completely - who promptly tells EVERYONE they know. "My mate has just done porn" being being the kind of triple A rated gossip no girl will ever resist for long.

might be a bit harder if your daughter is doing bound gangbang shoots for kink or blacks on blondes for parents.

yeah, those sites should be working with the talent and only posting official things rather than just a way for asshole surfers to expose a girls life online.

A very interesting subject. I have had only a couple of girls contact me to remove content over a period of 16 years. One was in her forty's, was very open about her work and promoted herself extensively for years. Her employer, a government social services agency, had found out and was in the process of firing her. A second, in her late twenties of middle eastern descent, didn't complain, in fact she was very excited about what she was doing, but her family got involved, hired a lawyer, and threatened us. We had her content removed in lieu of having my head removed.

If a girl is asking about wanting not to be seen, I tell her this isn't for her. If you think about it, only the enthusiastic are going to give good performances anyhow. Girls with reservations don't make good shoots anyhow, so that is a good reason to not shoot them. I had someone in here, an inspector with the TSA, and I told her flat out she would get fired when they found out. She said she didn't care, she had always wanted to do porn. But, when I called her with a gig, she stopped answering her phone and email. This is not a hard decision to make, for whatever the reason, if the girl is not enthusiastic about being seen you shouldn't be shooting her.

wow you must shoot for some very obscure backwater sites - trust me when you shoot for the major glam nude sites the family finds out...fast. Sometimes in the first week the content goes up

Girls ALWAYS ASK.. first timers always ask me if I think anyone in their hometown will find out... so you are faced with telling them the truth (and risk losing them) or lying.

Thanks Roald - and you wouldnt know about the girls who hate Freeones.. they wouldn't contact you, but I actually show freeones to a lot of models - remember we are talking about new girls to the biz in the first few months...the girls who don't want to be exposed to their parents..they are shocked to see how much fully explicit content go's on FHG's and VERY dismayed to see that it is all aggregated in one place. (If their MM page is included that makes it WAY worse)

A lot of girls mistakenly assume that all the explicit (spread leg) material will only be seen in member sections - thats actually a big question I get "So the explicit stuff will only be seen by paying members right?" I have even had newbies try to get me to guarantee that no hard free content will go up..hahah yea right!
