IBill Cheques Bouncing?
 

I just got a call from my bank, apparently I'm in overdraft because the IBill cheque I deposited last week was returned.

I called my rep who told me that Canadian banks are having a problem with the cheques from IBill Europe...I guess that means the one I deposited yesterday will be bad too. And the one I'm about to get in the mail next week.

The story sounds kinda weak to me, I deposit cheques from European banks every month with no problem. The worst of it is that IBill won't do anything for me until I mail them the original which is somewhere in the inter-fucking-national banking network.

They weren't that helpful and definately not apologetic.

I'm going to make the switch but that doesn't help me with the cheques already in the system, IBill won't do any thing for me until I can get the originals back to them.



WTF eh? When I bounce a cheque (rare, but I bounced a few today!) I work like a dog to make it good ASAP--IBill, on the other hand, is acting like this is all my problem. Of course, right now it is my problem

Well their name isn't "IPAY", that should have been your first hint/clue.

Fucking hell! I have some good Canadian webmasters as hosting custmomers and this IBILL thing is really screwing with them. If they would have listened to me months ago they'd already be switched to CCBILL. Argh.

Why would you have to send the originals back? I would think a fax copy front and back of the ones you have along with a copy of the bank notification should be more than sufficient for this situation.

They would stop payment on the checks you have in your possession and issue you new ones I would think.

That's exactly what we tried when a few checks of another company bounced. They didn't accept it and didn't issue new checks until we had sent them the originals back. And, of course, they didn't pay the returned check fees of our bank :mad:

I just got ibill spam to an old merchant account email address. They're giving away a free, red, C5 corvette.

They gotta pay for that somehow you know.

Whatever you do.... DO NOT SEND THE ORIGINAL CHECK BACK TO THEM! Send a copy.... It is a felony charge here in the states to write bad checks above $100.00.

Thats why they are asking for the check back... Do not send it whatever you do.

From what I understand they're giving away the use of a red vette for one year. It's a one year lease on a vette they're giving you.

Does that include them not actually paying the lease, and you probably getting a fat bill at the end of the year?

When a number of people are all having "banking problems" with ibill checks, and a lot of people aren't getting paid at all, it's pretty obviously they don't have the money and are probably going under. If I used them right about now I'd be offering an incentive for my members to switch to a good biller like epoch or ccbill. No sense in going down with the ship.


Kimmykim, you're forgetting your worked at ccbill, they're a good company. Ibill is a terrible company.

Well when it is sent to another counrty, Federal law takes over. The Federal law states that anything over $100.00 is a five year Felony.

Because I've got hosting clients saying they can't pay me because of IBILL problems I am responding in the following manner:

Anyone that opens a new account with CCBill in the next two weeks can have a free license to 3600 photos (value $1000) that I own for their members area. There are currently only 3 licensed sets out there, it's practically exclusive. I am defining this as anyone that goes through the IPSP registration process and pays the fee, regardless of approval or denial.

Anyone that opens an account with CCBill AND moves to SinHost in the next MONTH can have the free photos and TWO months of free hosting and no setup charges provided they pay for their third month up front. No tricks!

If anyone wants to take me up on it, contact one of the two following CCBill reps and tell them you've had enough of the IBill insanity (and that Brad sent you):

Actually, not really. In the US legal system you have to have "mens rea" (the "evil mind") to be guilty of a felony. So if you bounce a $10,000 check but it was an honest mistake and you make good on it, no, it is not a felony.
