OSHA has nothing to say about porn performers that are also escorts because the latter is an illegal activity and as such they have no jurisdiction. You cannot regulate participant behavior of an activity that is itself illegal. The only enforcement option is arrest and prosecution for prostitution, and that's not a high priority for the police.

Also, when some of the larger escort services are owned and/or operated by the very same people that are the agents for many of these porn performers it's not going to be policed from within the industry either.

Mariah makes a valid point, but she's not the first to mention it. It comes up whenever there's a lengthy discussion of industry STD testing or prevention.

The only people with any practical means of actually enforcing any kind of policy on this topic are the studios and producers that pay the models, and there's still no way to control the escorting between shoots. All they can do is demand a test done within a shorter window.

Get outside of Porn Valley or a major producer and all bets are off anyway, you simply can't herd cats.

Well, a lot of truth is in Mariah's post, sad but true.

I know a case - and no, I absolutely won't reveal names, cities or even countries here - where the scenario Mariah described almost happened. It was not in the US, but another continent and country. However, most of the girls there do exactly the same thing, escorting while they shoot porn. So, one girl was doing escort for one week in a big European city, there she even did anal without condom. She came back to her hometown, and continued shooting, as she still had a valid test and nobody knew about her escorting.

She was then tested positive when the next test was due. And somehow the truth came out pretty quick, and of course the girl's career was over immediately. Fortunately nobody caught it from her. But damn, what a risk. I mean, if they really think they need to do escort, and even without condom, fine. But doing it without any common sense and responsibility for others... Nope. This HAS to change, and it better changes fast. No wonder it gets harder and harder to find new talents, be it male or female. Because yeah, those girls and guys thinking about starting a porn career will probably read those stories (and the ones about nice "friends" posting their porn pictures on FB), too.
