The thing is there are scenarios out there where should could win the republican nomination. more than half of the first 20 states to have primary elections are bible belt states. If Plain doesn't run, Bachman will be the candidate of choice for many evangelicals. If she wins a fair number of those states and does well enough it could knock many of the other candidates out. I could see a situation where she could do well enough that it basically comes down to her and Romney after Super Tuesday. Romney would then have to decide if he wanted to commit enough money to stick around for another month or so when the voting switches to the more progressive states where he had the advantage. If he did that he would likely kick her ass, but if he did really badly in the bible belt he may decide it isn't worth it and bail.

Likely she would get stomped by Obama who currently leads her in a head to head poll by almost 20 points, but you never know what the voters out there might decide to do.

Well, banning all forms of porn will go down about as well as the Prohibition did.

Batshit crazy indeed but neither political party has even a modicum of respect for the hard-won and constitutionally guarranteed civil rights of Americans. The Religious Right is one of the greatest dangers this country faces as is the Far Left, which would limit Free Speech just as much but in different ways.

The Two Party system is broken and cannot be repaired. A third party, in fact couple of new parties would go a long way toward fixing the country but the Big Two will do everything in their power to prevent the growth of new parties.

The Republican and Democrat parties now are only self-sustaining monsters, like sci-fi blobs feeeding on the population and ever growing.

i dont know if a state can ban abortion. But if a state chooses to, i have no problem with that. I'm all for states exercising their own rights given to them under the constitution.

All i know is what Supreme COurts have rules confirming you to have a choice to have an abortion if you so choose. In addition current supreme court chief Roberts publicly stated that it's a decided law of the land. Case closed.
