They have ALWAYS been very active at policing their content, even before tubes.

It has long been common knowledge to stay away from them (Playboy), Suze Randall, Perfect10, among a handful of others.

Playboy has a huge legal department and they love to bitch smack people around.

Yeah, but the DMCA law is still the same no matter how good their lawyers are.
I might even hazard a guess that the majority of Playboy's stuff is a little too "soft" to really be in big demand on pirate sites. I know the sales for their paysites have always been one of the lowest I ever promoted.

It was hard for them to compete with the Playboy style vs. Sara Jay getting fucked in the ass. heh-heh

even if they have very soft content, they have so much content out there that it was always surprising to me that the tubes never had a bunch of it up, guess it was trouble they didn't want and went after easier pickings who would just dmca instead of taking it a step further and needing court appearances..... but then I wonder why so many of the others just take the abuse of watching their content all over the place while they endlessly send out dmca's year after year

Every attorney I've talked to...and I got so angry back in 2007 about this that I lawyered up and was ready to rock...all told me that I couldn't do anything about it under current DMCA laws.

Of course, we are now starting to see the beginning of some wins for the good guys here and there. Maybe you're right. Maybe they stayed away from Playboy out of "respect" and worry.

As for the 'why' who knows. Maybe it is the assumption that PB is a huge company, and would sue you if you wanted to lock horns. Typically they would hit you with a C&D, and give you 48 hours to remove the content. They would just keep plugging away until they got your attention. They are not the only one's who've done this however.

Where the other company's do a hit and run so you could shoo fly them away.

surprised it took this long really. playboy has been cheap for a long time. cheap enough to just rape the name for a few years and make bank.

The reason the playboy content isn't pasted all over the tubes is because they don't have tons of different brokers reselling it for next to nothing. If uploading content was just left to surfers there would be a lot less pirating going on... It takes time to rip/encode/upload full scenes. It's 90% site owners doing it.

I know Heff wasn't liking the porn sites part of Playboy. I do see them selling off all of their porn site assets. They are pretty good and have not been updated in a while.

In some countries in Asia, the Playboy brand is what sells (not the magazine), as many haven't a clue a magazine or adult material even exists. They think they bunny is cute, like the name "playboy" and that is what sells. The stores are selling nothing but Playboy gear. Not a naked pic or a reference to anything adult related to be found. It's treated just like a Hello Kitty shop.
