You are right. I wasn't sure if I was going until I read this thread. I used to live in Amsterdam and Queen's day is not to be missed. Talk about two great reasons to go to my favorite city in Europe.

Last year wasn't worth the effort and the pre-event organisation was totally fucked up. Hopefully it'll be better this year.

For coffee shops give Abraxas a try. :)

Deal, if you drop me an email or phone number. Lee at dreamnet.com.

I think we are going more to meet people and enjoy the tulips then for anything we would get from the show. Last time I actiually paid for the show and I was very disappointed.

Like with any event, its what you make of it ! There are a lot of new contacts to make at a place like this.

Try Rho Hotel. It's right in Dam Square.

stayed there twice. not bad, 3 star, but you get a minibar in your room.

From there, go right out the door, make another right... go about 1 block. On your left will be bahbah cafe. (total walk about 5 minutes).

Good music, excellent buds, good atmosphere.

Just watch your wallet at night (pickpockets) and don't buy 'charlie' off the street.

dopeincorporated 01-24-2003 05:09 PM

some advice:

I got a round trip ticket from Raleigh/Durham to AMS for $400 on Priceline.com ($485 with taxes and shit)

Maybe you all can get an even lower price.

Regular rates are around $900-$1000

CJ staff are my heros

It was never meant as a comparison to Vegas - just a statement about the event itself. Like you say though it doesn't mean the parties and pissups aren't worth going to :)

I'd also disagree about the statement someone made about 'it's what you make of it'. If it's anything like last year little in the way of useful adult info/contacts are gonna be made at the event whatever you try to make of it. Agian though, it doesn't mean the off-event stuff isn't fun/useful.
