Unban P1mpdog?
 

I was reading this page, http://slyslinks.com/unban.html, and I think someone's got bad information. They act as if pimpdog innocently made a joke about spamming his signature. But I don't know what you expect a moderator to do when he posted nothing but "see sig" posts in at all these threads. Also, note that slylinks page said he posted it just in 100903 thread, which you can see is totally not the case.

If someone wants to act like they're 15 and wants to be disruptive of the business and pleasure that goes on all day long at GFY, they'll be banned too. And Pimpdog has been banned before for the same type of disruption, so when does a 3 or 4 or 5 time loser get a life sentence?

I see what your saying but alot of people throw a smilie drinking just to get there sig in.

plus he had alot to say versus how many times he spammed.

But he's not a adult game site nor a content provider. He's just spamming.

I think people creating and responding to two page threads about STEAKS should be banned..

Yeah, He is a fuck-up...But he is a persistant fuck-up who has made a lot of improvements since initially appearing at GFY. He has said and done things that have pissed me off but on the flip side, he ads a shitload of humor to the board as well.

He is good for drama. Drama = page views. Page views = ad space justification. Ad space = $'s in your pocket. It's not like I am telling you something you don't know already...I am aware of this. If the guy is so bad then why are you wasting your time reading sly's page and then posting about it?

The title of your thread is "Unban P1mpdog?" Since this is a question, I will answer it. His banning has not generated as much attention or traffic as the banning of certain others has done in the past......Unban the guy AND his program. His recent crimes are not worth this banning. :glugglug

You know what, you're right. Pimpdog was a dick. Your board, ban whoever you feel deserves it for whatever they did that you feel warrants it.

Anyway, does this mean you won't sell us advertising? The big banners at the top running for a couple grand, we'll buy one. Or should I be looking elsewhere?

Additionally, the recent banning of Pimpdog taught me a shitload about marketing.

It's your board and your rules, we all know that, but that statement above is bullshit. This board is full of people who mainly act 15 years old and contribute next to nothing. Some of them have post counts in the 5-digit range.

I haven't been around long enough to understand pimpdog's history of bannings but "see my sig" is a lot less disruptive than some of the crap I see going on here.

No offense meant but this is the wrong attitude to take about this. You can not expect to buy your way out of this situation for the cost of some ad space. This is too little, too late. Trust me, I have been there before. :)

I read a few different threads on this board and I must say that pretty much none of them are for advice or important global news.

Lensman this is your board do as you like but it's going to take away from the entertainment value of your board.

Even if pimpdog has absolutely nothing important to say it will turn into a five page thread of people pissing which is always fun to watch.

Couldn't you just selectively ban the word 'hahahahahahahaha' from posts and sigs.

i'd give him another try and keep an eye on him... if he doesn't go by the rules this time around then bann him for good. At least you know you were the better person.

Not a smart move. Voicing your concerns is one thing, putting Lensman on the defensive, on his own turf, is another.

I am not suggesting that you kiss his ass but your question is more of a straight on challenge. When people challenge me, and my finger is on the button, I tend to press down. Unbanning him after he buys ad space may not look very good to some people. There may be a lot of fucking off going on around here but make no mistake...Politics are still heavily involved.

All I know is that he and his sights make me money and he is always straight with me. Bring him back.

He's definitely improved a lot, and I do think the see sig thing was a joke.. He's just got to learn to calm down a bit with the sig spamming.

There's lots worse on here that go unnoticed and unbanned for months.
