Adobe offers monthly subscriptions now for Photoshop, Dreamweaver etc.
 

No more excuses to use cracked software, you can use photoshop legit for just $35/month now.

IMO a long overdue, yet still brilliant step. I think this will make a lot of people reconsider downloading it illegally and just paying. Most people spend more at StarBucks each month.

If you cannot afford $35 for a piece of software that's integral to your business then you have no business at all.

I saw the subscription thing last week, prices look very high.

I cant afford a computer or electricity to run one... Let alone a monthly subscription.

I don't agree with that.... as you can use lots of other tools that will do exactly the same as PS that cost a lot less...

thats a good idea. i know a lot of people who cant afford to shell out $500+ at once for a software license so as much as they want to use a legit copy, its to difficult at first

if they introduced a 'pay to own' type model it would be good, other than that cutthroat on the backs of new business

people would be better off outright buying if they are going to use it all the time. still a good move by adobe though.

I do 3D animation, and have spent thousands on software for my business during its 5 years. I know several people who have their own freelance business, and still used the cracked versions of software.

Even though they can write it off, they'll still opt for the free version. I'd rather spend the money on being a legit business, rather than giving it away to the government.

I will say that Flash CS5 is a great tool but I also use a $50 program
that does the same thing (Koolmoves).

I think photoshop should have been bundled with windows.
Maybe they could bundled a beginer level PS and then people could upgrade to
PS Pro for example.

Paying for your software at the very least says you're serious about your business.

At that price per month they should offer it as a rent to own thing. 35$ a month for X months and the program is yours.

Or lower it and get 50 times the number using it monthly.

that's a good point, i am sure lots of people who need to pay for that cutthroat rate of subscription and stupid enough not to 'make do' has the 1100 available on a credit card

Doesn't matter what they set the price at, someone will always bitch about it and want the shit for free. People have a seriously inflated sense of entitlement these days.

keep in mind that they release a new version every 1.5 years or so... so spending $699 every 1.5 years is not much cheaper than spending $35/month... :2 cents:
