Selling my Viper and Jeep

Just took an unexpected pay cut that doesn't allow me to have some of my toys anymore. I'm selling some stuff at "crack head" prices, like my Viper. I believe in this company, so sacrifices have to be made. I promised them that I'd give them a solid two years at a very low salary (which just got lower), and I'm only through one of those. I've also agreed not to take side jobs during that time, so my income has been hamstrung to levels where I'm not willing to spend money willy-nilly to keep a fleet of cars. I'm also selling my Jeep, one of my boats, and a few other things that'll hit Craigslist soon.

Sucks man - but your loyalty is to be respected.

These are tough times. How much for the blond? :winkwink:

candyflip 03-22-2011 11:33 AM

I can't imagine doing that, but my kids come before loyalty to someone else's company

JFK 03-22-2011 11:33 AM

Luckily, I don't have kids, so I can make personal sacrifices in the near-term.

k0nr4d 03-22-2011 11:46 AM

what kinda mileage you get on that viper?
-10mpg?

Icy 03-22-2011 11:47 AM

Good luck! Hope it works for you and that company you are loyal to doesn't kick your ass out after those two years of sacrifice for you and cheap qualified labor for them.

Depends. How much are they going for these days? By 5PM everyday, I'm ready to consider it. :1orglaugh

Roald 03-22-2011 12:00 PM

I can see if you really believe in a company that you might take a salary cut but whats with the no side jobs?

Must suck though, best of luck!

I'd take $34,999 to get rid of it. It's got a bumper-to-bumper warranty on it so it'll come with zero problems. Blue Book is $40,790 "private party" and $45,000 retail. This is a deal.

$9,000, in perfect condition.

I code for them a LOT of hours per day to meet the crazy deadlines we've set. Over the past year, we've finished YEARS of code that we wouldn't otherwise have. Thanks for the well-wishes!

I am so digging the Jeep. I had a friend of mine who had a Jeep like that, and he let me use it while he was out of country for a while. I really grew to like it. My neighbor has one, and I'm thinking about getting one myself.

I rarely drive these days; Hell, I have no idea if my car even runs. It just sits in the garage.

nice price on a viper, but with these gas prices I can't imagine how much it will cost in fuel....

If you want a car like that , you're not going to worry about the gas prices. If you do, there is no point:winkwink:

Most days when she gets home, I pretty much say the exact same thing. 90 more minutes or so, and I'm home free.

Nice prices, good luck with the sale. Sure you'll sell that Jeep no problems, Viper might be harder tho... 7MPG! Holy fuck a moly!

wrong, even if you got a couple of mills laying around, spending like 10k+ a year just on fuel will make you think twice

Not too many people that have a Viper use it for a daily driver

Hopefully all of that hard work will pay off. I know I have been in a few situations where I have worked a lot of hours on a project for another company there was no payoff at the end of the day.

Tough time to sell too, prices are so low now. Good luck.

kichi 03-22-2011 01:36 PM

I will give you $28,000 cash for it today.

bbobby86 03-22-2011 02:38 PM

I'd love the Jeep but you are way too far from me.

Kenny B! 03-23-2011 06:10 AM

That is a sick deal on the Viper, I have to find a buyer for my Z first!

Yeah, that's been the issues with a lot of my buyers ... they need to get OUT of what they're in. :upsidedow

sojproductions 03-23-2011 10:08 AM
