Except it wasn't so much the show that was dropped, it was Charlie Sheen who was dropped.

They're just putting it on hold for the rest of the season. Doesn't sound like they've fully committed to canceling it.

Sheen needs to keep his mouth shit and just lay low for a while. Honestly I don't think his behavior is too off par from his normal antics over the past 20+ years, the fucking drives cars off cliffs- literally. Two and a Half Men belongs to CBS, unless they sell the rights to create new episodes to another network, (which they would never do, probably just to spite Charlie Sheen) it won't be picked up by anyone.

CBS is not producing any more episodes this season because they are worried about Charlie Sheen. They didn't "drop" the show.

I'm a huge fan of Charlie's work (don't watch his show) but he's a prick... like someone said in the thread earlier, he's putting other people's future in jeopardy. People may be unemployed because of this asstard :2 cents:

But then again...they might not have been employed in the first place if not for him.

The guy who plays his brother? He'd probably be selling insurance.
The kid? He'd be in school.
The fat lady that plays the maid? Unemployed.
The woman who plays their mom? Unemployed.

Everybody on that set and the network itself has made a ton of money because of him. And remember: He hasn't missed any work. He has shown up sober and ready to roll every day of production.

They are doing this simply based on being politically correct. The CBS network doesn't really care about Charlie Sheen on a personal level. The only people who do love him like that would be his own family.

I think this whole thing is overblown. If he wants to party with porn stars and do blow on his offtime..so what? I like doing that too. It's nobodies business. He's a grown man.

I hate to tell you, but this is not about Charlie Sheen's well being, health or radio interviews. CBS is a much larger than Charlie Sheen will ever be. It is worth more money and has a lot more to lose than some doped up 'has been' on a TV sitcom.

They have standards and a reputation to live up to, as well as a much larger presence to protect. One idiot spewing his mouth off at a few radio shows or fucking a few porn stars might seems like nothing to you, but to a multibillion dollar business it does.

It tarnishes it's(CBS) name in the eyes of the media, they eyes of it's investors and more importantly the eyes of it's viewers and fans. I personally hope they throw this loose cannon out the fucking back door of the studio and tell him to never come back.

This was a pissing contest between the studio execs and Charlie Sheen and Charlie lost. The execs caved and let Charlie come back which made Charlie think he had all the power. But then he went public and rubbed it in their faces with that interview. Studio execs don't get to that level by being pushed around and humiliated, so they let him know who the real bosses are.

This has nothing to do with drug use, it has to do with someone thinking he had more control than he actually did.

Trust me, the execs don't care about his drug use. But if you humiliate people in power they will fuck you over, even if it costs them money.

cbs has been the station for old people for a long time now, they don't get much of the prime time audience, at least not before two and half men.

My take on it was that there was really not much of an issue with Charlie being Charlie. Production was set to resume next week. Until he had his meltdown regarding the producer. Here are a few choice quotes:

I agree 1000% with the posts in reply to mine. It's definitely a "power struggle" between an actor and the producers. None of them are really "worried" about Charlie Sheen or any of the bullshit that is being spewed on the news.
