Assuming the 5% unemployment we have always had, only 5% of people are worse off than before. The people that are losing their houses are the ones that should have never stopped being renters and just go back to it anyway.

dont see why people think the US is the best when tons of countries out there have it way better than Americans do

Just a few examples. And in those places the people aren't filled with hate and they aren't ready to kill anyone that doesn't agree with them.

I just chatted with someone in the UK and they said it was cold there, I know Canada is frozen right now, france isn't much better than england on warmth and the Japanese are all vacationing in Hawaii right now.

And BTW, where I live, there is a lot of tolerance, very little crime . You don;t Jack about the US!

If debt issues are resolved, its going to be a struggle in the face of the China's and the India's of the world which will be a challenge. However, if the debt issues are not resolved its going to be gradual and painful decline for the US of A.

And of course I've been to the California and LA. Sorry but LA is not even comparable to any big Russian city by the level of racism and criminality. Not even a bit closer.

I´,m always dreaming of breeding horses in New Mexico. So for me it´s still the best. On the other hand there are some things I can´t understand, for example the social security system and the bible belts.

I´m sure the US are still the number one economy. But I´m afraid they will be eliminated from this position by China in about ten years.
