xenigo 01-16-2011 08:16 PM

I was looking at photos of his Las Vegas house the other day... holy shit... incredible property.

http://realestate.aol.com/blog/2011/01/12/n/

14,000 sq foot home sold for $4.95 million. What a hell of a deal for that place.

Slutboat 01-16-2011 08:20 PM

why would a hack like him be offered anything other than crap roles.

he was good in raising AZ but he won for leaving LV?? n please, he stunk that movie up.

JFK 01-16-2011 08:21 PM

nice crib:thumbsup

GAMEFINEST 01-16-2011 08:32 PM

sad shit...Cage needs better roles..

HomerSimpson 01-16-2011 08:47 PM

it's because he is shitty actor...

candyflip 01-16-2011 08:48 PM

Aren't he and his company usually on board as producers? If that's the case, he's picking and making he own flicks.

These guys invested in real estate and that's why they all seem to be hurting.

Farang 01-16-2011 09:26 PM

He was great in that new Bad Lieutenant movie.

MrBottomTooth 01-16-2011 09:30 PM

The sad thing is he has to be one of the hardest working actors out there. He's in everything these days. He even seems to pop up in movies where he isn't even mentioned in any of the advertising, like Kick Ass.

Kinda reminds me of Samuel Jackson 5 years ago or so....couldn't watch a movie without him in it.

MrBottomTooth 01-16-2011 09:31 PM

Ugh... he's even doing a Ghost Rider sequel. WTF?

Sly 01-16-2011 09:39 PM

He's completely broke so I'm sure he takes whatever he can get.

bronco67 01-16-2011 10:16 PM

Wild at Heart --- nuff said.

Nicholas Cage may have made some bad financial and career decisions, and he's weird as fuck, but there's only one Nic Cage. The man is an institution.

Nasty 01-16-2011 11:00 PM

In October, 2009 it was reported that Nicolas Cage was indeed broke. In fact at that time Cage filed a $20 million lawsuit against his ex-manager, Samuel Levin, accusing him of negligence and fraud. Cage said that Levin led him "down a path toward financial ruin."

But perhaps it was Cage who put himself in this situation. According to several reports last year in The Daily Beast and The Hollywood Reporter, Cage has been a compulsive shopper for decades.

Some of the items that Cage reportedly indulged in over the years included a jet, a castle, over 50 cars, two islands in the Bahamas, a $500k Lamborghini once owned by the Shah of Iran, a dinosaur skull that he paid $276,000 for in a bidding auction war with Leonardo DiCaprio, and several yachts.

Cyber Fucker 01-16-2011 11:18 PM

I've never liked him maybe except "Leaving Las Vegas" that was perhaps his one good role.

Spunky 01-16-2011 11:18 PM

Damn..Nick be ballin,go broke or go home

The Ghost 01-16-2011 11:19 PM

He's still a bankable actor and HUGE in foreign markets. All the countries I've visited will open all of Nic Cage's movies.

maybe if he didnt go apeshit in public so much he might not get slim pickings

Lester Burnham 01-16-2011 11:27 PM

For every 1 good movie he has 10 bad ones. The good ones:

Kick-Ass - love this movie and thought he did well
Peggy Sue Got Married - yes, kinda cheezy, but not a bad date movie
Leaving Las Vegas - He was awesome

I loved his character in Kick Ass!

Bringing out the Dead is probably my favorite Cage film. It's a really fucking good movie that never seemed to really get alot of attention. He's a good actor if paired with the right director. That and I think the part needs to play off his natural excentricities to make it a good fit for him.

Machete_ 01-17-2011 12:40 AM

I like the him in Lord of War.

Bangkok Dangerous - not so much.

Oh, and he really did bank on National Treasure movies.

Yea, Lord of War was a great movie.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 01-17-2011 01:09 AM

Been a while since he's been in anything good, but he does have it in him.

Oh no, that was by far one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I can't believe that anyone could watch that movie and think it was even worth releasing. His acting was fine in it, just a horrible horrible movie.

I loved Kick-Ass and Next. I'm still hoping they make the second part to Next.

k0nr4d 01-17-2011 01:29 AM

god damn why does he have so many washing machines ?

For all the bitches.

cooldude7 01-17-2011 03:03 AM

he is my favorite

dicksman42 01-17-2011 03:17 AM

I liked his character in the movie Face Off with Travolta

loreen 01-17-2011 03:48 AM

He's kind of ugly but HOT :)

V_RocKs 01-17-2011 03:58 AM

Remembering from an interview with his agent...

He chooses these shit roles. He is/was offered many very big leading roles that went to others, such as, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, etc... But for some reason he turns down the awesome shit that turns blockbuster in favor of cool stuff that is only cool in his head.

maxxtro 01-17-2011 04:14 AM

He is turning into Val Kilmer

Sarah_Jayne 01-17-2011 04:20 AM

I loved him in Kick As but other than that, the last film I liked him in before then was Adaptation.

ottopottomouse 01-17-2011 05:30 AM

Shitty roles by choice I expect. Like Cuba Gooding Jr.

adendreams 01-17-2011 05:38 AM

He was good in Adaptation due to brilliant writing and directing, and he fit the part perfectly in Raising Arizona, other than that...one of the worst actors of our time IMO

TheDA 01-17-2011 05:48 AM

Never really rated him.

Nic Cage is a mediocre actor at best, and that's probably a little over the top.

I think the fact that his uncle is Francis Ford Coppola may have helped him get some of his roles. He's too stoic for my likes, and in my opinion that makes him come across as amateur at best.
