Eric.. suggestion for new GFY rule ?
 

This is just a sugesstion Eric, I could be way off here. But how about a rule that everyone who posts here has a valid adult buisness related signature that can be verified. I mean get rid of the surfers and the trolls who bring nothing but hate to the board. It may not be the answer but could be a good start.

There are alot of mainstream people who do traffic buys in adult here also.

so we should kick them off because it wouldnt appear as adult related?

unless you own the board keep your ideas about the board to yourself.

So they bring nothing here. They can still view GFY to see ads and read about new porn.They just wouldnt be able to post Jim.

I do agree with you...I purchase templates, domains, join programs on here and make contacts, so knowing someone is legit is ideal.

Why would I put my sites in my sig? They're not for other webmasters. I'm not trying to sell anyone anything. My sites are for surfers, not for you. Frankly what I run is none of anyone's fucking business.

I can understand MetaMan's valid point as well. Especially as more adult people are dabbling in mainstream, and some are doing 90% mainstream projects now, basically out of adult.

If Eric is taking requests, and trying to make this a better business board I would like to see two rule changes in the B&S section.

1. A fee of some kind to post things for sale. Whether $1 or $5 each listing. Where you have to pay to post a listing. This would stop the flood of shit domains that are all being listed individually.

2. The second recommendation I have seen on other boards for their B&S sections. A basic rule that only interested parties in the O.P. can reply in B&S threads. This would eliminate the off topic trolling and bashing posts that take place in that section.

Very true.. its a crying shame but very true. My point tho is have a sig.. prove youre in this biz not some surfer. Like I also said, just a suggestion. Im sure theres 100 reasons why I am wrong.

The idea has been raised in the past and I can see why.

Typically the fake nicks, and trolls are flying no sigs. Just as their profile information is blank.

That does not mean EVERY ONE of those guys is a troll. But amajoe has a point in regards to it typically is a dead give a way, and there is no way to verify if they are even in this business. I can understand the AMA frustration. Some of us still use the WM boards for doing actual business.

I think this would hurt the majority of new webmasters (the way GFY makes money is hoping new webmasters sign up through sponsored banners) since many are looking for good domain names for a good deal, and people in the biz just looking to unload names for any price. A new reg. domain is like $7 bucks...so to add extra fees to post here makes not much sense.

The fee should maybe be added for someone looking to sell something for xx,xxx when it is only worth xxx, if anything this is the biggest joke on these boards.

It makes perfect sense when you see one person filling up 25% of the B&S listing 25-30 complete shit domains in separate threads. A fee would stop, or cut down, on this behavior.

Besides, you are missing the bigger point. If the domain is actually worth anything greater than the reg. fee. Then a fee to list is a 'cost of doing business'.

I wouldn't mind paying a listing fee personally if it helps clean up the section. On some of the mainstream sites for bigger ticket items you have to pay as it is now, so I am used to it.

After all, the recent GFY attempt with new rules and adding mods is to make this more about doing business, and catering to those actually in this business. So the 'cost of doing business' is simply how the game is played.

A fee is a fee. If the site or domain is worth anything. People pay the fee. Simple as that.

well the multiple domain threads the same day by the same person is crazy...since you can just make one thread with all the domains...and just bump it.

Fee = less traffic
Free = a ton of traffic

for me the most annoying is someone announcing a post count...maybe a fee for a wasted thread. :thumbsup

Agreed. Especially since most of those brokers are taking a 50% cut of the selling price. Again, cost of doing business. They want 50%, they pay a listing fee.

Again, not bashing you. Free or cost will not change the BUYERS behavior in one way or the other. BUYERS will actually appreciate a more cleaned up section. Which is the whole point to the B&S section in the first place. Selling to quality buyers with money.

One some other industry boards out there, I see vBull actually also has some add on for added exposure to threads. Both for bidding, as well as featured spots and premium membership. I think those would be good additions as well for GFY. But that's ultimately Eric's decision.

While I suppose a paid listing may discourage some sellers, especially the nickel and dimers. It is common knowledge the best place to sell anything in the adult industry it is here at GFY. So if you want to be cheap, you can go to the secondary boards. If you actually want to SELL it, you pay a fee as a 'cost of doing business'. Simple as that.
