Tony rocks out in the passenger seat....only thing left to do is powder coat the rims a nice flat black....and its set.

jact 10-05-2009 01:51 PM

Oh and a word of warning, the blind spots in this thing are a bitch! However they're better then the Camero's IMO.

LadyMischief 10-05-2009 01:51 PM

Awesome pick! You made the right choice, it roooooocks.

nation-x 10-05-2009 01:51 PM

I test drove one of those last week... I felt like I could get to Raleigh in 1.5 hours :)

Jayvis 10-05-2009 01:51 PM

Awesome Jact...i dunno....i drove both several times....the challenger just felt more "GUY" than the camaro did....might just be me being a mopar guy....plus i am "old school" and the challenger stuck more to a traditional muscle feel

I got into the SS and I felt like I was in a space ship. I like my driver area to be neat, clutter free and not look like a Christmas tree all light up. Please tell me you got the track pack? These cars are such a waste with the automatic!

ShellyCrash 10-05-2009 02:00 PM

Nice car.

Time to update the watermark maybe?

Totally agree with you there. The bodylines on the Chally are so much more of a throwback to the old look and feel of the Challenger, moreso I think than any of the other new and updated versions of old muscle have.

dyna mo 10-05-2009 02:06 PM

i don't recommend a flat black pc for those wheels

BlackCrayon 10-05-2009 02:11 PM

why not get the real thing instead of a bastardized version of it?

I did think about that actually.....i also thought about a few other old muscle cars in the same price range....but...i want new technology....better brakes...better handling..etc....and i do believe the original challenger was lacking in the HP dept at the tires....

Get yourself a DiabloSport Predator. If you don't do any other upgrades to it, the tune is a must. It'll wake the car up hugely. They run around $400 and you can reset the factory tune for when you take it to the dealership for service.

The <1971 Challenger had the engine, the >1971 Challenger had the styling but lacked the engine. I'm thinking about getting a 72-74 and putting a crate in 'er and making it my drag car.

black yes, flat black no. i tried it on my wheels and had to change it, looks ghetto on a nice car. like it was rattle canned and the flat black isn't a smooth finish so brake dust will get caught in it over time and it's a bitch to clean off.

i've powder coated a SHIT load of things on my motorcycles and cars. The flat black looks good on some parts but will not look good with a car like that.

when you get to the coater, you will find they will have many different variations on black.

i would suggest a satin black, not flat and not glossy.

Congrats! That is going to be seriously good fun to drive.

TheHatchet 10-05-2009 04:27 PM

I really love the new challenger and your choice looks great, but the camaro ss drivetrain will out perform the challenger any day of the week.

Spunky 10-05-2009 04:30 PM

when it comes down to 10ths of a second in performance, it's everything else that determines the purchase.

so your comment is moot.

The Challenger SRT8 are good enough for CONTENT maybe, you know, to like pick up makeup and groceries and smack, but everyone knows that successfull program owners (and LiveCamNetwork authors AHEM drive REAL cars....!)
