Have you bought your first house yet?

Simple question.

I am in a 2room, with kitchen apartment. And I am sick of it. I currently take care of my friends house as she is out of town.

I love it.

Im thinking about it this year. There is up to an $8k tax credit rebate in the US if you buy a house before Dec 01 2009

Lykos 07-14-2009 12:41 PM

Barefootsies 07-14-2009 12:43 PM

I bought a condo about six months ago for a rental property about six months ago. After property taxes, insurance, etc, I'm making a small profit. In fact, this morning we were on Zillow.com looking for another one.

Bought my 1st house when I was 19 years old. I now have two rental's and a house in Gilbert AZ. : )

Twistys Tim 07-14-2009 01:19 PM

I bought a townhouse pre-construction in 2000, and then sold it in 2007. Then bought a bigger place for the family to grow-up in.

How is the market there? We were in Gilbert 2 years ago and almost bought a rental in a new development. They had INSANE incentives... what is it like now?

StuartD 07-14-2009 01:21 PM

Yeah, but hoping to sell it soon.

The Dawg 07-14-2009 01:27 PM

July 1st made 6 years. :thumbsup

pornguy 07-14-2009 01:29 PM

I built a house and then sold it 6 months later. Bought a small ranch and lived there for three years and sold that as well. Then bought 2 pieces of Property in Baja California and now looking to buy a house here.

20% of phoenix is foreclosed and bank owned right now - it's a paradise for buyers

Right now is a good time to buy in AZ, I bought my house 2 years ago and had 100,000 towards incentives. The new build have to compete with the foreclose so they are offer amazing deals : )

You want to be my neighbor? I will keep my blinds open and clean my house in only my GFY booty shorts : )

Honestly I wouldn't mind knowing which neighborhood you're in and what you'd recommend. The realtor we used before was trying to push an area he had like 9 rentals in, so clearly he got a good kick back from the developer.

If you want to send me some details, fire me an email (you know it) and maybe we can work a few things out biz wise.
Thanks!

There is one in foreclosure right by me!

ShellyCrash 07-14-2009 01:48 PM

I bought mine back in 2003, almost have it paid off... almost ;) Still want to gut my kitchen and maybe build a dock out on the lake, so I might dip into my equity a little there.

Now is a GREAT time to buy. If you're income is stable I say go for it.

blonda80 07-14-2009 01:49 PM

not yet but still hoping

I´d love to buy something in Arizona or New Mexico, but I need a place for breeding horses. And I´m afraid it´s a dream at the moment.

My wife and me bought our first house when I was 21. Exactly 25 years later I´m making plans for my retirement. And if I´m lucky it will work.

Sosa 07-14-2009 01:52 PM

bought three years ago at the age of 24

BestXXXPorn 07-14-2009 01:54 PM

Funny thing I offered to buy the place I linked a year ago and the builder wouldn't accept the offer... A year later the bank foreclosed on his construction loan for 5 houses (that being one of them). So the bank took my offer of $100k less than my previous offer!

WIN!

Elixir 07-14-2009 01:57 PM

For me it looks like far dream for now. But I hope things are going to change.

Cyber Fucker 07-14-2009 01:57 PM

Not yet... I'm homeless :(

czarina 07-14-2009 02:05 PM

I've owned 2 homes so far and 3 empty land type of properties. Bought my first home at age 25

rayadp05 07-14-2009 02:10 PM

I had my house built for me about 2 years ago. 5 BDR, 3 BATH, 2 CAR GARAGE, OFFICE ROOM, 2800 sq feet and a two story house. Enjoying it very much too. :)

I also own another house that is 3 BDR, 2 BATH, 1 CAR GARAGE, 1800 sq feet and one story.

DWB 07-14-2009 02:10 PM

Those of you living in Arizona, NOT in Phoenix but perhaps near it (going away from the border), what is the market like?

Someone bring the girls and the camera, I'll provide the shower, the water, and the bubbles :P

Lived in my own place(s) for the last 16 years - I could never go back to an apartment

TidalWave 07-14-2009 02:28 PM

Where is that house? NC?

JayDeeZee 07-14-2009 02:29 PM

Yep, bought a place we couldn't afford but made it work by renting out the basement.

Best thing I ever did. I love working on my house.

Calico Jack 07-14-2009 02:31 PM

In my 4th house at the moment. Think we'll be staying here too.
