Looking for a premium wordpress design, new payment concept $$$$

I'm looking for a custom, premium design with the below specifications/rules. I will pay you what I think the design is worth at final delivery, with a down payment up front of $250. If I decide the design is worth $1,000 I will pay you the other $750. This is a no bull shit thread. The minimum you will be paid is $500 total with a maximum of $10,000.

1. I need to have this design delivered to me with full CSS, using 100% widgetized controls, and a complete drop in solution for wordpress (on any domain). If you need to outsource the slicing/wordpress part of it to someone else PLEASE DO, I do not want a half botched job, or low quality css/cut up. This needs to be right the first time, and SE optimized when delivered. I have paid for premium mainstream wordpress designs in the past that are SEO'd and they make a big difference.

2. Must be of equal or better quality than http://www.thedirty.com/

3. You must be able to do toons or have one created within your own budget, I'm not even going to say I will use a toon but if you don't have a way to have one done for this then that weeds you out.

4. No, this is not for a celebrity blog.

5. The design must be completely fluid.

Paypal payment preferred but if you only do epass I will work it out.

Oh, I forgot an important point that I kept reminding myself to post and I didn't.

You can not use the design in any of your future portfolios.

Can't you get a design like that done for 2 to 400 bucks or so? Don't see why you should end up paying 500 or more for this.

listen, I'm sure it _can_ be done for 200-400, fact of the matter is I can pay 500-10k and don't mind helping someone out if they give me what I want.

If someone comes recommended by me, will you automatically disqualify them? Just asking :winkwink:

$250 is the going rate for a great blog theme

if you're paying more than that you're overpaying, the site you linked is just a fancy header + navigation bar + a very standard and basic layout and could (should) cost only $250

thats an amazing design, may not be what youre looking for exactly but the going rate for those guys to make themes like that i think is $250

just saying! i spend lots of time looking for themes and stuff so i know it can be a painnnn to get one you like

I have ordered many designs over the years and not got what I wanted but still paid what the designer wanted. I would much rather reward someone for doing exactly what I want in the end and working with me through the process.

anyone who is mildly successful isnt going to care about saving $500 for a custom job. they want the best and you have to pay for the best.

if you continue to think you are saving a few bucks "at the going rate" is the way to go you are very fooled.

Good luck man, I hope you find someone good, most designers suck, and most non-designers couldn't tell a good design if it slapped them in the face. Atleast one other person in this thread understands (MetaMan).

No offense, but if yo consider your example to be anywhere close to the example the OP gave, then you clearly have no idea about what you're talking about. Your example must take a full 30 mins to be produced (plus the toon, which is cool). Let's say 1 hour if the designer is slow.


Now that's a lot better. Even tho it's extremely simple to do, it's really well done on the visual aspect. This being said, the OP example is a bit more complex than this example, which is just an amazing header and some nice graphic elements. Everything else is just extremely basic WP any newbie can build

All the above being said, I'm amazed at how delayed is adult when it comes to blog design and functionality, I'm almost sure most WP themes I see around here are made for WP 2.1 or so. Which is good for us, lol :1orglaugh
