I am just getting bitten by the Twitter bug and I decided to make a Sarah_MaxCash twitter page.

I would love for you to follow me at - http://twitter.com/Sarah_MaxCash - I have set it to approval so not to catch anybody underage. I will approve as soon as I see the request.

Just make sure if you add me it is a page you won't be upset seeing porn info show up on.

I am looking to follow others in the biz. So, do you have a twitter page?

Wow, loving adding people :) Guess I can officially say I am a twit.

Don't go too hard. I searched some keywords and added lots of people from them. Got up to following around 760 people after a day or 2 had 70 or so people following..

I was not dropping links but still got the account suspended for "aggressive following". I can request to have the account reinstated but not before a week long "cool down" period.

I will be requesting the account back because I had done a custom background and colors and my page was looking pretty cool.. .

I am not at that level just yet but good advice. I wonder how that works with having it set to approve. Maybe if you pace the approvals?

This is so why our Industry is getting left in the dust, why you people can't seem to grow in sales, traffic, whatever.. You bitch about piracy and tubes, but do 100% nothing new when you know damn well you can't stop piracy/tubes. But when NEW gives you kiss on the cheek, you kick in the balls.

I realise I can see how Twitter looks like a "I am now having a shit" thing.

It's not about that.

It's about posting funny or amusing comments, interesting URLs, and for famous people posting what they are up to is interesting for many. This is why Stephen Fry has 137,000 people following him.

From a marketing pov, if you can get talent to post interesting tweets, they can build up an audience that have given explicit permission and shown interest in hearing from that person. See my other post today about the top ten porn stars on twitter.

The idea of both, from a marketing perspective, is to inform contacts or possible customers of relevant information concerning your business.

In your case, Twitter would be a good tool for building loyalty among affiliates.

No but on messengers yes.

Just seems extremely redundant to me. Kind of like having a home phone and a cell phone.

I see what the Doc is saying and also what Damian is saying and it makes sense to a certain extent, I just think it is adding an unnecessary step. We all have websites to provide info to our webmasters and sologirls all have myspace so why add another step?

I personally believe this is a fad (and not a highly useful one) that will fade like a pair of black jeans. At least with other social networking you can you know add pictures and stories and really network if you wanted to. With twitter you are limited to x number of characters which really limits it's possibilities. Not to mention, you already have this functionality with facebook which most of everyone has now anyways.

The more lines to a webmaster or surfer you have, the bigger your chance of getting relevant info to him - especially when things like email addresses change.

I get what you are saying..I am new to it myself. However, judging by the webmasters I am seeing on there there are some that like to use it and so I am givign it a try. The good thing is, you don't have to see it or join it if you dont' wish to.

That is the one thing I will credit it for...the fact that you don't need to signup to see what's going on like you would with facebook.

Yeah..plus my mom is on facebook..need somewhere to hide! It should be another decade before she figures out Twitter.

I think it's definitely got some potential. A big problem with blogs was that they made it clear once and for all that most people simply don't have much to say. Twitter satisfies their urge to tell the world about their boring lives, while removing the need to write more than a single sentence.

I just started using twitter to update my facebook status... now to figure out how to make it update myspace as well. If I can make Twitter be the top point for updating other stuff, it can save me time.

Okay, how do you get twitter to update facebook?

Use ping.fm it updates myspace status, facebook & bunch more. That's how I post mine. Somuch easier than logging in to each one. Who the fuck has time for that? There's also twhirl. I havent used that at all really.But seems pretty nifty. I sent a request. www.twitter.com/MissMinaBBW

Sarah, twhirl is what I use too because I have several usernames (business/personal), tweetdeck is good too.

Do a search on facebook for twitter ... the first thing up will be their application. I don't think it can update from a protected twitter.
