Which part of Ohio you in? We have those things ALL OVER down here.

Wolf Spider btw: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_spider

Sands 09-17-2008 06:06 PM

More than likely it's a funnel web spider. I have them around here. They're sizable, and they look scary, but I believe they're harmless.

budz 09-17-2008 06:09 PM

i'm in Clarksburg, Wv now was in Sidney right up 75 from nati

TRUST ME they are not harmless. I got stung or bitten by one of these fuckers in france and my whole leg turned purple and dark red, had to go see a doctor, gave me some pills and it got better after 2 weeks. I said what was it that bit me (Cos it got me while i was sleeping) and he said a wolf spider. :helpme:helpme

CunningStunt 09-17-2008 06:15 PM

Stamp on the fucker.

budz 09-17-2008 06:17 PM

I'm sorry to hear that buzzy. I'm not sure that the North American funnel web spider is venomous, though. I do know that the Australian counterpart is venomous and should be avoided. However, here in the states these critters are harmless, or so I'm told. I could be wrong though as I've never been bitten by one.

bigmack 09-17-2008 06:35 PM

Looks like a recluse spider to me. the damage their bites can do to people is horrifying.

SomeCreep 09-17-2008 06:43 PM

spiders suck

d-null 09-17-2008 06:43 PM

that does look a little bit like a recluse, but it probably is a wolf spider

I wouldn't want to get bit though, any spider can bite

the recluse's have a violin shape on their back I believe, and that sort of does look a little bit like a violin marking

pornask 09-17-2008 06:55 PM

gorgeous creature :thumbsup

Manowar 09-17-2008 06:58 PM

looks like a brown recluse but i doubt it

d-null 09-17-2008 07:02 PM

here is an actual brown recluse, I guess the 'violin' looks dark, but I don't know if this is the only type, and there is another brown spider like the recluse that has a bad toxic necrotising bite as well

GAMEFINEST 09-17-2008 07:04 PM

I have black Widows all over my house :( I hate them

hankphone 09-17-2008 07:13 PM

I'm from Michigan, and those spiders are wolf spiders. Take a stroll down Lake Michigan's beautiful eastern beaches some time after dark and point a light at your feet. You will fucking freak out. They can jump and they are everywhere.

That looks nothing like the Wolf spiders we have around here. We just had our property sprayed for them and when they guy hit our window wells where we knew there were a couple, 4-5 more came out from under some rocks lol. Kinda cool to see but kinda grose as well. Now they are all dead

Get a pest control guy there to spray down the outside of your house and foundation. You will be amazed when they all start coming out of no where and are dead 30 min later

Spunky 09-17-2008 08:23 PM

Squish the bastard before it bites

tiger 09-18-2008 12:45 AM

What is the spider that looks just like the black widow but has a white hour glass instead of the red one. I see those fuckers all the time.

Crocodile Dundee would beg to differ: "I don't mean to put down your black widow spider, but the funnelweb spider can kill a man in eight seconds, just by lookin' at him."

Iron Fist 09-18-2008 09:59 AM
