Got my new pet today.
His name is Sid and he's the cutest little hedgehog in the world. This is a recent picture of him. I was on a waiting list for nearly two years. Hard to find them that are bred properly.

Just watch your step and always look behind you when you sit down. |
A chick I used to work with bred hedgehogs. When she first told me, I remember thinking how weird that was and wondering how many people would really want them for pets.
But she had people driving in from all over the place to get them. I bet her cell would ring 3 or 4 times a day with people asking her if she had any. They were very cute. |

i see lots of them running around here at night - unfortunately your safest bet to find one is in the morning in the middle of the road looking like a hamburger. someone should teach them that curling up doesnt protect against cars :-/

That?s an interesting pet choice :thumbsup

LoL @ your hedgehog.. He is cute but i can't imagine people keep em as a animal. Over here I see them often too at the road as a hamburger
|
I found that scary..

Cute little guy. But how do you cook them?

Hedgehogs are the coolest little cage animal ever.
I havea 4 week old baby in my lap right now and 15 more of them here in my office at this moment. A bit overkill, but my girlfriend is a bit nuts and has her USDA breeders license. As far as I know, she's the only one in NYS at the moment. We had the breeding stock flown in from all over the country. They're pretty popular and like you said, hard to come by. We have someone who will be paying $300 for one hoglet and is driving 7 hours each way from NJ to pick it up. Here's one of ours, I think he's called a Algerian Cinnocot: http://a880.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...49bb06a52f.jpg |
