I am offering to help eliminate webmaster sausage fests
 

I have had a few websites and shot content for various companies. I have always went under the radar in this business. I have sporadically attended webmaster events since 2002. I have really not needed to go to shows because I have enjoyed long term clients who gave me plenty of work. I still have those amazing relationships but for some reason I just want to get out and go to another show for the experience.

I am excited to go to the Phoenix Forum as I have never been there. I have no idea what the girl to guy ratio is at the Forum but I have seen the sausage fests of other shows and that has not exactly been an attractive feature. I know I know I know, we are there to do business not talk to models. I get the picture, ok? But let's face it, it is nice to have a few females around the parties.

Now I am am not saying this particular event is a sausage fest, perhaps there are already tons of hot models already registered. I am sure many of you are already bringing models and have had this planned for months in advance. Good for you:thumbsup

So what I am proposing is that I rent a big RV and invite some LA talent to ride with me to the Forum. Now, I realize that even though they are girls they will still need badges to get into the events. So perhaps a few companies want to hire them for the show or at least pay for their trip in return for some promotion. Whatever you suggest I am game.

And if you do hire them I don't see why we could not shoot some crazy pornstar road warrior content while we are driving out. It could be sex or could just be good clean fun with interviews, flashing truckers, cleaning road kill off the tires, or whatever spontaneously erupts.

BTW, I have good relationships with all the LA agents so I doubt they would have any worries about their models traveling with me.

Best way to eliminate it is to have more women woking behind the scenes in the industry. and or have the ones in-the-scenes be more active and intelligent in the business side of things.

i'm not saying it wouldn't be fun and i wouldn't appreciate it, but i'm saying you're just catering to the fat webmaster infatuated with the idea of being able to use money to get sex (i.e. sausage fest)

The Lightspeed girls are there in full force and there always seems to be a lot of female talent in the PHX area.

I don't see this proposition being that big of a deal unless you had a couple Greyhound buses full of talent.

However, since TPF seems to always sell out, I doubt there would be room for them anyway.

There is a lot more female talent at the Phoenix Forum than most shows, but still the girl to guy ratio still has to be around 6 to 1.

I think this is a great idea, I would contact the show and see if they have model badges, that let the girls go to the events at night.

I know some of the other big shows do this on the DL.

My opinion is if their not fucking me who cares if a bunch of pretty girls are there or not. Its a business thing.

Ahh, but you can still do business with the regular suspects and since many of these girls are open to the idea of business relationships with top players in the business then this can provide a nice opportunity for both sides to talk face to face. Plus I will be driving these girls to the show. This means that they won't be missing flights. We all know talent never misses flights.:upsidedow

Plus, there are some interesting content opportunities while on the road:winkwink: Perhaps someone would like to have their company logo plastered on the side of the bus. Perhaps we could pull into a town along the way and do a pre-arranged radio show which features your product or website.

Hey, I am am not a "big player" in this business by any stretch, however I have never had to stress about making a nice income because I have strong relationships with a few of the big guys. And I have gotten to where I am by coming up with various ideas and pitching them to people. Perhaps this idea does not come to fruition but perhaps someone contacts me with a variation of my idea and things grow from me.:thumbsup

if it works I wish you the best of luck. I dont go to the shows because Im not a party person. I dont drink and I have no patience for being the only sober person in a room.

I have to wonder if you have ever driven to PHX from LA. Not exactly a lot of towns in between. Mostly sand.

So Brian offers his negativity to the thread. Much like he offered to me a few years ago when I was a budding content shooter.

His "advice" did not apply to me as my ambitions to shoot for the top companies where more powerful than his negativity. Good thing I took his advice with a grain of salt because things worked out better than I could have imagined.

No worries though Brian, I like you and think you are a talented guy. Perhaps a bit bitter though.

I think you'll find that the doormen wearing Lightspeed Jerseys will be very lenient about allowing hot girls into the parties without show badges. :thumbsup

Bring the girls... That way the ratio isn't 20 to 1... I would say the ratio is more like 100 to 1 as far as single girls go.

Strange.... I just went to Florida in Jan for biz and got my passport in less than a week, no problemo whatsoever. Besides these shows are just day events, even a couple days, just say your going shopping and vacationing :)

Not trying very hard to make friends with me I see. Well I have made great strides in my abilities to tune out toxic people. I tuned out Brian and a few other pros and went on to opportunites beyond what most content shooters even dream of.
