Our colleague Irwin (bitoy and AkoSiShaider to some of us) is in the Intensive Care Unit since yesterday and he needs our help. The cause of the problem is not yet clear (a blocked or ruptured vein in his head). He is unable to move and forbidden to talk at the moment to prevent aggravating his condition but the good thing is he is conscious.

He needs an operation right away for him to survive but it comes at a cost. I hope that some of us can help Irwin with our little contribution. you can PM me on how your contributions can reach him. Any amount will be truly appreciated. Please pass this on also to other boards so that his friends in this field may be informed.

Please include Irwin in your everyday prayers also. We will update this thread with this condition as often as possible.

Once again, thank you for extending help to Irwin and his family.

i just went to see him earlier today at the hospital.. doctors confirmed that he got an aneurysm; he's scheduled for an operation in a few hours..

I apologize for getting flippant in my first post.

I was already in a bad mood over the AFF/torrents BS, and a bit drunk and tired at 5am. I should not have gone off that way.

There have been several scams on GFY, and there were certain things in the plea for funds post that sounded suspicious, such as saying the cause of the paralysis was unclear, and that he either had a blocked or ruptured vein in his head. Those are two totally different conditions, and an MD should be able to diagnose either rather quickly.

I also questioned if the problem is unknown, how is it known what surgery, if any, is necessary?

In view of that, I wondered how can a specific dollar amount be applied to a surgery when it isn't even known what the surgery is for?

I know I am very skeptical, but I've heard so many stories over the years, that have caused me to be that way.

Anyway, I hope your friend recovers from whatever is wrong with him.
