Moving to Canada questions
To anyone living in Canada, if I wish to move there for 3-4 years, which would be the best city to live in?
Also, what would be the monthly income required to live in that city? How much on average for small apartments on rent? |

What country are you from? I'm not sure you can just "move to Canada" ...
|
What are you interests?
Do you need a job there? If you like the mountins, hot women, and the lakes, Kelowna is a great place. And an appartment would probably be 800-1000 for somewhere pretty good. If you like to just party it up, Montreal is supposed to be pretty good, you'll need to pick up some french somewhat quickly as most speak english, but not all. I dont know about the cost of living there. |
Where are you trying to move to Canada from?
|
Don't listen to anyone who says anything but Vancouver, Whistler, Kelowna, Banff or Montreal.
I'm biased but I'd go with Van... ocean, mountains, hot girls, amazing weed. If u live right downtown studio apartments start at about $800.. $1500 for anything fancy. You can live cheaper (i'm paying $700 for a 2bdm) if you live outside of downtown. |
i miss Canada...I'm planning to move back to Canada in 3 yrs time...hopefully...everything is on track...
|
Definitely West coast.
|
Montreal, Vancouver or Tonorto.
|
Vancouver 1 bedroom downtown 1200ish/month u will get a nice place
great weather(except when it rains), great bud, and overall good place to live my second choice would be whitehorse in the Yukon |
Im English, but Im spending a lot of time in Asia and I plan to explore a bit of the Americas next. They say I can get a permanent residency based on a point system which is not difficult at all, and move in with full rights to work etc. I was thinking along the lines of Vancouver as well.. I have been working online all the time in Asia but might need to get some parttime work in canada as well as it wont be as cheap as Asia.

If you can put up with:
extreme cold winters hot summers with billions and billions of mosquitos high car theft high crime in general a city with no NHL hockey team a CFL football team that sucks a city council that rejects every new major corporation trying to set up shop here and most of all the Worse roads in North America Then Winnipeg is the place for you! |
