Okay, we never were together (and have never met). But, alas, our love will never be. Somehow I unintentionally broke some unwritten MySpace rules, and things fell apart (Let me know if I was rude or something).

First I posted an xmas card (an animated gif that I made) and link to my myspace blog in many of my friend?s MySpace comments.

Cory posted a comment on my page, explaining that she deleted my comment because I was spamming her page. (Which is fine. I delete lots of comments that feel spammy. Bust since she left a public comment about it, I wanted to respond and address it.)


I wrote her:

no problem. I use my myspace to share my personal videos with friends.
So everything I do here will be 'spam' to you.

It would be easiest to unfriend me. Happy Hollidays!


She replied:

But you added me as a friend and I'm not selling anything. I left a holiday message and encouraged you to check my latest videos. I thought people used comments on myspace to do that sort of thing.

Just to be different, I'll say that your gif DOES have a url on it and if the person doesn't know what the site is, it could certainly come across as spammy. Especially if you send it out to a ton of friends and she happened to see it elsewhere.

Nothing against ya, you're cool as hell, but it was posted an auto-commenter and had very little to do with me. I've no idea how this myspace etiquette thing works cause I'm not on it very often but I'd rather have comments from people who actually took their time to write me. I almost never "add people." So I assume if they are a "friend" they choose to add me and are interested in my online journey.

I like to make shit for the web. Videos, images, writing, etc. I've shared it online for a decade and now I share it via myspace.
I do it for free because I love to share. But if people don't want it, that is totally cool!

I loved your comment on my page and you're welcome anytime. But I did think of that when I've seen it on other peoples comment sections.... that someone might get pissy. Its super easy to post like usual and just make sure and add a sentence which is personal.

I alway stay away from cut and paste emails too completely. I'll have a cut and paste section to get my message across that I'm going to need to get across to several people just so my hands don't fall off. But I always make sure it is clear that I looked at their website or referral links or something and add some advice or a compliment that is specific to them.
