A dog just attacked me and bit me (pics)

Looks like tomorrow I get to figure out how to deal with animal control and rabies vaccinations in a country where I don't really speak the language :(

Fucking thing went from lying down on the sidewalk to biting me and chasing me down the street in 2 seconds... I was just walking by from the video store (stray dogs lying around in public are very normal here, although this one has an owner who lives at the house it was lying in front of).

Pipecrew 12-17-2006 07:01 PM

I would suggest going to the hospital right now, I wouldnt leave an open wound like that, its just going to get infected if not treated propery ASAP.

I'm following the steps listed on http://tjsamson.client.web-health.co.../rabiestx.html right now...

Waiting on my buddy the translator to call me back, can't really go to the hospital without him.

omg thanks!!!!!!!!!

People I am handling it fine, the spanish and third world country comments were me being humourous and trying to lighten the situation. My ride will be here in a few minutes and I'm going straight to the hospital. You guys can stop replying with "better go see a doctor" now :1orglaugh

aico 12-17-2006 08:00 PM

Just go to the hospital point to your wound and say "El Chupacabra". They'll know what to do.

fuzebox 12-17-2006 10:30 PM

Well that was fun... got a rabies shot and a prescription for some hardcore antibiotics which apparantly cannot be mixed with alcohol :( Worst news all day.

KMR Stitch 12-17-2006 10:31 PM

I donno about you...But I had a pitbull dog charge me down one day.. I stood my ground and when he came close I did a quick Kick stright foward and back.. The force of my foot hitting his Jaw made him do a circle on the ground..It snaped him out of the trance he was in and he ran off..

Next time if you have the chance Throw a punch or a kick.

My spanish gets better every day :thumbsup I talked to all the doctors etc myself, but handling the whole hospital scene was hard enough and a bit overwelming, it's not nice and neat like in the usa where you walk into emergancy and talk to the nurse at the front desk... very very chaotic, so I was glad to have a local guide me through everything.
