if you are basing it on looks alone.. it is a very beautiful car. however.. it is a very stiff driving vehicle for supposedly being a luxury auto. the gear box is also very stiff to drive. shifting is not smooth in the least bit, and you will go through a gear box or two while owning one.

just some advice!

Is that a problem with all of the Astons? How do you know this?

Mitch

I've had a couple of friends that have owned Aston Martins. once again, beautiful cars, just very disappointing in overall performance... and i don't mean "get up and go"... i just mean overall. The way the gearbox is designed, you would think AM would design it to shift smoother. it's very much like driving those video game cars at the local arcade where the gear shifter has to be exact. bad analogy, but very precise.

The cars have great torque to them, and for the most part are quiet when driving up to about 60 mph. anything over 60 and you start getting alot of wind noise as well as engine noise.

Test drive one and drive the shiat outta it... you'll see exactly what I am talking about.

And as i've said, you will go through at least 1 gearbox while owning one... usually around the 30k mileage point. Unfortunately it's a common problem... and not in the least bit cheap to fix.

Astin Martins are slick...

Did you take notes on the video you saw? lmao Or are you pretending you have drove one?

P. Nash 08-17-2006 11:18 PM

Honestly, buy it if you like it. Youve earned it.

You, being one of the few classy people I have had the pleasure of meeting in this industry, deserve to drive what you like.

Thanks Paul. My feelings are mutual. You are an awesome guy. It was great spending some time with you in FL.

Mitch

I was maybe a bit harsh with the "few" comment, but you are one of the truly good ones. I have had the utmost pleasure of meeting alot of good people in this industry so I should retract that statement. You are absolutely one of the top though.

Maxxx9000 08-17-2006 11:35 PM

LOVING it...

Look at the build quality, listen to the sound it makes then drive it. That should make your mind up for you. :)

Unless you have other better choices that you like?

GeorgeM 08-18-2006 03:27 AM

one of the best car ... how much $$$$$$$$ ?

cool1g 08-18-2006 03:34 AM

Mitch - i was at the dealer on Olympic Blvd in Bev Hills a couple of weeks back looking at one. I liked it but for $120K + tax i'd rather have a used Ferrari 360. I was surprised that the seats were pretty snug fitting - much more so than any other car i've driven.

Heck, you can get a 2004 Gallardo for $140-150K.

Magix 08-18-2006 03:55 AM

it's great!

CaptainWolfy 08-18-2006 04:10 AM
