How Old Would You Want to Live?
 

I recently read an article on Yahoo News titled:
(The article expired or I'd link to it)

"Happy 150th birthday a new era looms for old age"

and they go on in the article to talk about how the top aging scientists in the world already feel the first person to live to 1000 has already been born.

What's your opinion? How old would you like to live?

I think if I were in good health and mobile enough to do what I wanted 150-200 would probably be perfect. Give me enough time to do everything I want to.

I pretty much have 100 guaranteed. That will be more than enough for me.

If i were in good health and mobile i wouldnt want to STOP living ever.

60, tops. That's when everything starts breaking down and my nieces will be teenagers then so I don't want to have to deal with listen to my brother and my SIL complain ;)

i think it would be very interesting to experience death. What happens to your thoughts/soul etc. I think youre prolly end up where u were before birth - not remembering anything. Pretty weird though.

living to the age of 1000? no way. our current knowledge on cellular lifespan puts the natural limit on human longevity well below 150 years.

Forever would be great, but i will settle for 100.

Right now yes...but that doesn't mean that we won't know everything we need to know to keep someone alive to 500-1000 years within the next 25-50 years. Therefore, people that'll have the chance to live that long...have already been born.

i would want to live to be about 75. I don't really want to be one of those super old grandpa's who has to have someone wipe their ass. I would rather go before then.

I would like to live for at least 10^100 years. At that time, physicists predict nearly all stars in the universe will be dark and even the sub atomic particles which make up matter in the universe will start to decay. However, on that kind of time scale, it is possible that even the most bizarre quantum events can and will occur. So for those who have no idea what that means, "I'm saying, up could become down, and in could become out." It would be interesting to see what happens.

I really don't mind. Until tomorrow maybe, or whenever. I'm happy enough either way.

100 is just not enough, I think forever is a good deal, even better, if we can change body but still keep our brain, that's would be the heaven on earth :D

I want to live as long as my brain is viable. Once I start to lose it mentally, then I might as well pack it up.

I'm aiming for 80 years.

I want to lvie for as long as I can still take care of myself. I don't want to be a burden to my grand children

if I make it to 75 it will be amazing.. I live life and enjoy myself.. I don't wanna live to be 125 and not be able to even get out of bed by myself.

I don't want to live long... but to the fullest and pass away without pain.

It really depends on how good I feel afterall. I see no use in lying 20 years in a hospital bed.

I want to live forever, but if I got hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow I can be thankful that I have lead a fuller and more diverse life than most 10 other people who live to a 100.

Life is not a practice run, and I live it as such.

I do not spend an inordinate amount of time living life looking in the rearview mirror, nor do I spend an inordinate amount of time projecting more than 6-12 months ahead.

I plan, I do, I plan I do, in that sequence, but not always in that order (think about that one for a minute).

Life is good.

I don't care as long as I can maintain a certain quality of life. Once I can't see or hear and start shitting my pants I'd like to check out.
