TUTORIAL: How to set up a Paysite when you live in Canada
How to setup a Paysite from Canada I get asked a lot how I set up my porn site from Canada, since Paycom and CCBill won?t process for you if you live in Canada. I?m not sure exactly why, but something to do with Visa and Canadian banks. Anyways figured I?d write a simple tutorial since I am getting tired of repeating the process to people :) First off what you need to do in order to get processing for your site, is set up a company in the states. I recommend incorporating someplace like Delaware or Nevada, since there are a lot of incorporation companies based there to take care of your incorporation. For my example, I?m going to suggest http://www.nationalbusinessinc.com/ since they are the only ones I have experience with, and Tana if I remember her name correctly was extremely easy to deal with. Go to that site, and choose Classic Incorporation or LLC Package ($595) But you also need an American address because visa requires the paysite domain, and everything else to be based in the USA, so go ahead and also get 1 Year mail Forwarding ($300). At this point, you will need to call the IRS and request your business Tax-ID. The tax-id is the longest part of this process because it takes 3-4 weeks to send it to you, because they aren?t allowed to give it to you over the phone if you are not an American citizen. There is a way around this however; you can buy an expired LLC from National Business Inc for an extra 500 or so I believe, I don?t remember. If you?re impatient like me, I?d opt for this. You can?t choose your company name if you do this option, but they will give you a list of available companies with EXISTING tax-ids, so you don?t have to wait for your tax id to come which takes 3-4 weeks. Now that you have your new company, and your Tax-ID you?re ready to get set up with Paycom. CCBill I believe also requires that the company owner himself live in the united states, so that?s why I went with paycom, since they allowed me to just use my Address in the states, but scan my Canadian citizenship card for them as proof of ownership of the company. Good luck |

Also i hear if you set up in EU you don't have to pay a 750 visa fee :2 cents: also i couldn't find an incorporation company in EU that returned emails.. |

thanks for the good tutorial man. :thumbsup

What I don't totally understand is why CCBill requires your director to be a US resident to obtain Visa processing while Paycom does not...
|
Or just wait until the US invades you for your oil. Won't be long now, I sent W an email about it earlier. He was all fired up.

On the EU.. was thinking the same thing DS. I can't think of one valid reason why any Canadian guys setting up now would want to deal via US when ya got Paycom, CCBillEU, SegPay, Verotel and others in the EU and no 2257, VISA fees and little or no taxes if organized correctly. |

could be very little work.. i'm gonna look into that :thumbsup and like i said, i incorporated in the states cause i couldn't find a company in EU who replied to emails regarding setting up a business over there... so i didn't know what else to do.. oh well though, can easily switch to EU now :upsidedow |

Does a CCBillEU + Visa require your principal director to be somewhere in the European Union?
|
Also, does anyone know of a good solution, such as a registered agent service, that will act as your principal director in either the US or EU?
|
I see Gibraltar incorporations on an awful lot of WHOIS lookups. I think Gibraltar gives you access to CCBill EU and Gibraltar is quite friendly to foreign companies wanting to offshore.
The thing to remember if you are Canadian and want to try this in the US there is going to be constant bullshit when dealing with a US bank or the IRS because of the patriot act. Who knows how bad its going to get in the future. |

I would avoid the USA at all costs.

Launch date will be mid january 2006 :thumbsup |

You might want to consider if you would want that. Any EU based company would work....use it as a work company that provides certain services for a fixed fee, pay some taxes and all is 100% legal without drawing unwanted attention to your setup. :2 cents: |
Let me address a few things:
If you want to process Visa transactions with CCBill: A) the business has to be located in a Visa region, US or EU B) the principle has to be located in the same Visa region It makes no difference on when you were set up, the above 2 requirements are only if you process Visa transactions |
Go EU. ;))

Well, I'm just stating that I see a huge amount of adult domains and sites registered in GB. There is probablly a good reason for it. I know CCBill EU is processing for them. For Canadians reading this thread they might want to consider the EU option as incorporating in the US has a large amount of tax and legal consequences. Not only that, you can also expect constant political interference in your banking arrangments thanks to the patriot act. |
