How Many Joins/Day Does it Take to be Considered a Whale?

As the title says, how many joins per day does it take for a webmaster to be considered a whale for your program? Just curious on everyone's thought on this.

Im still working on the guppy part (wink).

Sly 07-08-2005 04:10 PM

BBO and the crew say about 15.

MickeyG 07-08-2005 04:11 PM

above 50 for a whale.

Manowar 07-08-2005 04:11 PM

looking at the bangbrosonline area "(PPS only - send over 210 in a pay period)"

normal period = 15 days

14 sales a day.

I think most would classify around 15+ consistently a whale

Seriously though, I will be needing WHALES for my new mainstream WHALE of a program for educational products.

15 a day puts you in the top 10% of every sponsor I've ever seen stats on in terms of being an affiliate.

For example, at TCG, doing 15 signups a day will have you ranked around 30-35 out of thier entire list of affiliates who have sent at least one signup in their time with TCG.

For a paysite, I would think being a whale would mean much higher numbers, something on the order of 50-100+ signups per day.

Trax 07-08-2005 04:19 PM

If you push 100+ signups a day to all the programs your promoting (paid signups, no free aff profiles for example) I consider you to be a whale for sure :)
but a lot of affprograms are getting a lot nicer once you send them 10-15 sales a day :)

Anyone that sends 210 in a pay period with us, gets bumped up to 40/join for all the joins. Lots of people hit that and are happy.

Basically make an extra 1000, the second you go from join 209 to join 210.

when I was sending tcg ~15 sales a day I was not ranked in the 30s

Phoenix 07-08-2005 04:21 PM

with the drop in mail for most programs id say anyone over 10 a day is a whale now

of course there are still guys pushing tons of joins but it is usually spread across like 20 sponsors

Had a couple times over the past few months where I've missed a tier like that by one or two signups...SERENITY NOW.... :winkwink:

Rui 07-08-2005 04:22 PM

I guess I would say in the 10-20 ranges (consistant tho)

I'd be pissed hitting 209. Might have to bust out the CC for that one :error

I'd be salty if it ended when I was at 209 :1orglaugh

Do you mean to a single site/program or to all programs combined having a total of 50-100? I was referring to a single program in my original question.

Tell us how many joins you do and we'll tell you if you're a whale. ;)

Furious_Female 07-08-2005 07:08 PM

I was going to say 20/day... but I guess 15 is the average. Neato

WG send me 1 a day and I'll take care of you like a whale. I have plenty of blondes for you.

I am guessing 15-20 was your rank? Icq me the answer I am really curious.

:winkwink:

Edit: TCG whale bonus kicks in at 7.2 a day.

onlymovies 07-08-2005 10:07 PM

I would think it would depend on how you're looking at your sales for the day. Weather you're sending sales to just one site, or the total sales you made that day across numerous sites and programs.

Brujah 07-08-2005 10:27 PM

Some companies react differently. You're a dime a dozen with TCG for example even at 70+ weekly, while a few companies treat you like whales even if you're just getting started with them. MrSkin for example, Derek is great. Xpays is another example. I'd get email from Evan all the time.

I'm mostly interested to see what a sponsor would consider a whale to their respective programs.

Morgan 07-08-2005 10:35 PM

before running my own program, i used to pull about 60-90 trial sales per day on my own with ONLY paid TGP listings...

I considered myself a whale.

Now that I own a program, I look at other affiliates and notice people like myself are very rare. I love the affiliates that push 20+ sales per day each and consider them all whales now.

Trixxxia 07-08-2005 10:54 PM

With TopBucks - to get the bump from $ 35.00 to $ 40.00 you have to have 150 signups per period (approximately10 signups a day) on average. If you can bring over 350+ (approx. 24 signups a day) on average, that bumps you up higher. Anyone doing 350 per period is a VIP with us. If any of you are personally doing 10+ daily sales consistantly with one program (could be one site or a combination of sites), consider yourselves whales and more. :)

Yeah 1999/2000 kicked ass, I miss those days :(

European Lee 07-09-2005 12:39 AM

These days anyone sending 1 sale a day consitently should be considered a whale by programs, time are getting hard and webmasters are getting lazier and lazier by the day.

We send several programs over 100 sales a period and get treated the same as affiliates who send 1 sale a period.

Special treatment is of course nice but, at the same time, all i care about are the checks and wires that get deposited :2 cents:

Regards,

Lee
