I think South Africa would be in the top 3 too..

psili 02-16-2005 12:16 PM

I'd say an Antartican winter would be pretty brutal. Don't think that counts as a "country" in your question, though.

AnaNicole 02-16-2005 12:35 PM

People say Colombia is very dangerous !!!

Those stats sounds about right to me.
Not a bad ratio for the USA

Are people honestly responding Africa in response to a most DANERGEROUS COUNTRY thread?

:Oh crap

warlock5 02-16-2005 01:55 PM

The irony is that places like Syria are pretty damn safe. I've heard people that live there say you can walk around dark streets in the middle of the night, no worries. North Korea on the other hand...

IwantU Bryan 02-16-2005 01:59 PM

I would have to say Honduras, Guatemala or Salvador

spideriux 02-16-2005 02:11 PM

Canada I think

These numbers are obviously broken. How can you have 140% of murders in south africa commited with firearms?

Nationmaster makes it look real nice, but I've noticed other 'inconsistencies' in its numbers before. :2 cents:

Quite simple actually if the data for 'Murders with firearms (per capita)' is for say year 2000 and the data for 'Murders (per capita)' is for say 2004. I'm not saying that the stats are 100% accurate, but I believe that they give very good idea of which are the most dangerous countries, wouldn't you say?

An idea, yes... a GOOD idea? Well, that's up for interpretation. :winkwink:

Close enough to know that I have desire to spend any length of time in South Africa, at any rate.

Stacey_JoinRightNow 02-16-2005 03:16 PM

for me DANGER is anywhere, it's everywhere. same as DEATH...you would'nt know on when, where or how...you might just be walking on a beach one day not knowing that a BULLET is coming your way. there is no SAFE place in the world now...therefore i conclude that DANGER is everywhere, so beware

Not sure which is the most dangerous, but don't think I'd like to be walking down the street in this country.

Watch 'Tears of the sun', you're going to shit your pants, I know I did. Probably the most disturbing movie I watched in the last 5 years.
