What the fuck is wrong with you people?
I just don't get it. You encourage a system that takes money out of your pockets.
By now you might be wondering what I'm talking about, so I'll tell you. Spamarrest and all the other verification "products" out there. You support a system that makes it impossible for your members to get their confirmation emails, which include their passwords and other important information, emailed to them, UNLESS they just happen to be looking for an email from the processor. Hello, the processors don't answer those verification emails, they don't have any way to answer them. So all the people using those services end up without their confirmations half the time, if not more. It's the most foolish thing I've ever seen. You work in a business that NEEDS to email the paying customers automatically but you personally use a system that disables that process. Sigh. |
Happy Birthday Kimmy :-)

check your email, so long as you don't use Spamarrest or the like ;) |
I've never used Spamarrest

Lots of fuckwits in these parts. Lots. Kind of like the anti popup people that also get paid $40 per join because their sponsor uses consoles.

I've always gotten your emails, and by the looks of this thread, I'm glad I don't use spam arrest, hehe :)

I use Spamarrest and I like it... but only for my personal email address which I never use to sign up for something :)
|
I was just talking to a potential client that was whining that he did not get a timely response. Turns out he used spam arrest, and felt that auto responders should be able to read them or something.
I don't get it |
I don't use spamarrest, but so long as webmasters aren't joining pornsites, etc with the email they use spamarrest on than I don't see a problem. Every smart webmaster should have a 'spam' email account and a 'personal/business/private' email account.
|
Definitely shouldn't be using it on business oriented addresses ( especially support addy LOL) but for personal it's ok.
|
Also gotta love the people promoting all that evidence cleaner shit + cookie cleaner shit.
Makes you wonder if they know what the fuck they are doing. |
These days I actually LOOK into the yahoo email addresses junk folders I have because I've found a lot of "good" msgs there!
|
i used to get 60,000 emails a day...not anymore,
thanks to spam arrest :thumbsup |
Damn Shemp, 60,000 emails is a ton of spam to sift through!!!! It makes my 2500 emails per day seem so insignificant! I don't use spam arrest but I do have my e-mail spam filters tailored to delete 95% of it for me. I'd never get any work done if I had to sift through them all by hand!

between spamarrest and the evidence cleanrs, they are losing sales and then complain they are being shaved...... |
I can't believe I was not invited to your party.
|
Good points, KK.
|
I'm getting spam arrest today :winkwink:
|
My favorite is when people submit galleries to you and they are running spamarrest. That's a great way to never get your galleries listed.
Morons. |
I don't use spam arrest.
|
I just use OE filters. If it's in my Inbox it's probably spam:glugglug
|
Good point,I don't think many people realized that
|
Spamarrest?? :helpme
|
Spamarrest and the like is a bloody stupid system. It assumes that all valid e-mails are person-to-person and makes it difficult for users to access any automated e-mail service, eg discussion lists, e-zines, membership sites, autoresponders, etc, etc, etc.
|
i havent run into anyone yet who has sent me a spamarrest form..that i have decided it is worth my time to fill it out and press click
i just say i guess they are not intrerested and go on to the next person |
I use mailwasher, so I can get only the mails and spam I want.
All my processors and affiliate programs have rules created so I do not miss their emails. |
Big problem!! I don't use spam arrest. I get email bombed and have to clean my mail ques all the time. It is a royal pain in the ass and hard to keep up with. Put a form up on a mainstream site ( a cemetery none the less) it gets crawled by some spammer and now that address only used for the form is getting the usual crap. Royal pain in the ass.
The other problem is cookies. Turn 'em off or use products like History Kill and it is hard to get credit for a conversion. Yet there are tons of webmasters shooting at their own feet. I don't have the answers. Oh, you can use filter programs, but they create a set of problems of there own. The next big pain is all the ICQ spam. My rant for the day. |

you don't know how true this is |
I never used spamarrest or the like.
At the moment, I can handle my spam manually. I don't get too much since I use several email adresses and I don't post them online as [email protected] |

I get Spamarest confirmations all the time for webmasters on our programs. I just click on the link, put in the code and they get the emails.
I use the email filters in Eudora and probably lose more emails than those who use Spamarrest/others because the sender never knows they were filtered. Or am I missing something? |
