Nothing after Hi Infidelity was worth a shit, and High Infidelity doesn't hold up too well to the passage of time either. Everything before Kevin Cronin was cool. 'Golden Country' is an all time classic.

But they're not on Badfingers level.

They did keep going.

Stryper?? WTF??

Christian Death Metal...always kind of confused me. Even today look at a Stryper search.

Stryper | The Official Website. Home >. Stryper.com | The Official Website of Stryper. Stryper will be at Disney World in Orlando Florida for a night of joy.

heh An evening of joy. How pleasant. :winkwink:

I once saw Cheap Trick at a theme park. They ROCKED but it was still depressing.

Good, but gone too fast. Bradley wanted to die anyway. He would shoot heroin while he was doing radio interviews.

My understanding is that Sublime morphed to North Beach All Stars or something like that after Nowell died, they played a webmaster event and Andy Edmunds ended up punching the drummer in the ear.

The worst concert i ever attended was a David Bowie concert and the best was a tie between Van Halen '84 and Judas Priest Defenders of the Faith.

The Priest concert i was only like 12 yrs old. Man talk about seeing the light. I instantly traded my schoolbooks in for e-strings after that..:1orglaugh

How about one of my all time favorites.

The Band.

Pure talent and pure dope. Great combination. My wife says YES. I think they both recieved some recognition but nowhere near what they should have (im not really a YES fan, guys voice bugs me)

They TOTALLY got props, they're considered one of the greats and Robbie Robertson as well. Can't say they're underrated.

YES got props as well, 'All Good People' is a Zeppelin-esque classic. When I say underrated I mean a band that has put out some kick-ass all-time hits and nobody knows their name now but everyone recognizes their music. Like Badfinger.

:ak47: Ted Nugent

He never sang any of his songs but did his damndest to make everyone think he did, thus taking away all the props from the real singer Derek St. Holmes. Nugent is a prick, which is obvious since he's now a right-winger, where all hypocrites end up.

La Guns

CDSmith 09-24-2004 12:28 AM

Agreed about Badfinger.

I would add Streetheart, hands-down. Canada is actually full of underrated bands, but Streetheart tops them all. d/l tracks like "Action", their superb remake of "Under my thumb", and "Tin soldier" and anyone with a taste for good classic rock will agree... they should have made it huge internationally back in the late 70's and early 80's.

Sadly, due to certain managerial disputes and fuckups, they never did go huge south of the border.

Trooper would be another highly underrated band.

Yeah, they definately kickass. As far as musicianship and talent Frank Zappa and the Mothers never got nearly enough credit for the type of stuff they were doing musically, Frank Zappa was way ahead of his time and is still to this day one of the greatest all around musicians that has ever lived. Other bands that never really got the recognition that they deserve I think are Uriah Heep, Blackfoot, Spooky Tooth (Gary Wright, who wrote Dreamweaver, was in Spooky Tooth), Bread, Ten Years After, Traveling Wilburys (Tom Petty, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne (ELO), and Bob Dylan), Primus and Derek & The Dominoes (one of Eric Claptons projects), etc. The list goes on, that's just what I could think of off the top of my head. :2 cents:

dig420 09-24-2004 12:35 AM

Bread and Ten Years After definitely hit the mark.

Bread only made weepy love songs but MAN did they ever do it well. I still get teary-eyed listening to Diary lol
