GIGACASH & GFY ( adult forums )

I'm sure most have you have heard about gigacash $1 per webmaster sig click.

Seems like a great promotional tool. From what it looks like they have aquired almost 1000 new webmaster signups in the last few days.

Anyone from gigacash wanna tell us how many new webmasters you have aquired.

Good luck gigacash... !!!

p1mpdogg 08-31-2004 07:35 PM

so it seems but even if 1:10 signup they make the $10 back pretty darn quick off the 1 webmaster. like 1 signup

zentz 08-31-2004 07:55 PM

hmm... thats interesting..

Interesting.

I certainly would not think that way. I would think that ration would not be kind in the slightest.

Can't fault them for trying, nor would they do it if it wasn't working out.

you think better or worse ??

I added up the webmaster #'s it seems like almost 1000 but i could be wrong or they could not be sequential

but at 1000 new webmasters at 1:10 would mean they spent 10 grand yesterday in promotions

not bad !!

1:10 is insane. I've seen sigs do 1:100 or worse. Just depends.

i figured 1:10 on a new promo like this for the first few days..

At 1:100 they would have spent 100 grand in the last few days in sig promotion.. daymmm

BlueQuartz 08-31-2004 08:29 PM

I think it is a branding strategy, more than a ROI situation.

An ROI situation, IMO, would fair better if you paid the 10k to the webmasters that have traffic; ala higher percentages on payouts, bonuses on volume sales, sign up incentives to those that send traffic....

So my point is that the numbers at the end of the day are irrelevant in concern with ROI.

Not saying it is a bad strategy (branding), just not seeing how 1 out of every 10 webmasters will send legit sales to make up for the per clicks.....

makefuckingmoney 08-31-2004 08:42 PM

I think there is only about 38 webmasters left that actually send a decent amount of traffic.

He's obviously never seen overall sponsor/affiliate stats.

Lensman 08-31-2004 08:47 PM

Too bad tomorrow that you can't have a big sig for them anymore. They cancelled all advertising.

I wasn't condemning the plan, I was simply saying the strategy, or merit of, may not be strictly a return on investment situation; at least not directly via those specific numbers. In other words, I don't think that throwing out 1 in 10 stats as the preconcieved marketing notions is accurate.

Although, I could be wrong because I have never seen any important numbers apparently.

must be all working out for them then.

Muff 08-31-2004 09:31 PM

It would seem that most of the new signups are webmasters signing up to fly the sig and not necessarily send traffic to their sites.

Kyle 08-31-2004 09:37 PM

Is everybody going to post their stats?

KMR Stitch 08-31-2004 09:41 PM

Yeah, Lets hope this lasts.

SmokeyTheBear 08-31-2004 10:02 PM

i'm sure it won't but oh well.

It paid for a lobster dinner tonight..

Not at all, I think it's very fair. How often have you actually clicked on someones sig? It's a much better idea than pay per impression.

Snake Doctor 08-31-2004 10:09 PM

I've heard from several sources that webmaster traffic does indeed cost around $1 per click.....so this isn't really that far off.
(When you consider what it costs to advertise at a place like GFY divided by the number of clicks you're going to get on your ads)

On the other hand, all this shit with people begging others to click on their sig should stop in a hurry.
I wouldn't be surprised to see several accounts terminated for shit like that.

:2 cents:

SmokeyTheBear 08-31-2004 10:09 PM

btw my ratio is 1:7 for registered webmasters : clicks
