Stop helping newbies, morons!

Okay, if I see one more of you shitheads offering helpful tips to newbies I am going to bitch slap you. Most of you don't view other webmasters as competition but they most definitely are competition.

Let's say you open up a restaurant. A couple of months after you are up and running, someone wants to open another similar restaurant across the street from you. This would-be restaurateur stops by one day for some tips. Now here's where things get good. In real life, you'd be evasive, vague, possibly downright rude with this person.

Since we're online and other webmasters aren't viewed as competition some of you are willing to share the knowledge and experience you have gained over the years to expedite and simplify this person's trek into adult webmasterhood.

Helping out newbies is like taking the new restaurant owner under your wing, showing him your expenses, income, distributor lists, recipes, and telling him which dishes your customers like the best. Would you do that in a brick & mortar business? I think not.

We're all vying for the same surfers attention. Helping another webmaster attain those surfers is downright stupid.

pornstar2pac 06-12-2004 10:15 AM

sig sale day is on the 27th newbies

Doctor Dre 06-12-2004 10:17 AM

I dont care helping newbies because I know 99 % will NOT and NEVER do as good as I do ...

I mean this whole business is full of amateurs ... The only thing that is good is networking ...

I mean who the fuck use CSS in this business ... we are years behind on everything .

Just think about it, newbs are still 5 years behind you anyways ... not really competition if you are at a certain level .

And I got another question for you : How did you start out in this business ?

My guess is that some people helped you out :)

Doctor Dre 06-12-2004 10:18 AM

And the 1 % that will be successfull will just help the industry become better since they bring something new .

Many partnership program owners are browsing this forum you know. They are interested in recruiting as many gallery posters as possible. Even if these posters are newbies, but not the experienced ones like you ;)

Basic_man 06-12-2004 10:21 AM

no more newbies!

BAN THE NEWBIES! :D

Doctor Dre 06-12-2004 10:21 AM

Oh and one last thing ... when theses newbies grow up, and become succesfull (Ive been in there for years ... Ive seen a lot of people come and go), they always remember you . The day you need something most of them will be there for you too .

lol

So you teach them and they end up doing better than you...and the only thing you can hope for is they will throw you some scraps because you showed them the ropes.

Man, that's pretty fucking lame.

a good program looks for things OTHER than just gallery posters :)

Gallery is 10 percent of the revenue.

just a punk 06-12-2004 10:28 AM

Using this excellent opportunity I'm gonna invite all the newbies to visit our site (see sig.) and pick up as many sponsors with FHG galleries as they want, also read all those useful manuals that gathered there ;)

You have found the only thing that can be done with newbies. You make money off them. If you can do that, then more power to you. Let's be honest though, there isn't anything on your site that is educational or profound in any way. It's all about making yourself more money.

Designers, content providers, programmers, etc can ignore this thread. You sell things to newbies that you KNOW they won't be able to properly utilize. You exploit the newbies visions of grandeur for profit and for that I applaud you.

I can't do better. I pay people for quality content though. Yours is not what I would consider quality.

Can I at least wait tables at your restaurant, or be a cocktail waitress or something?

So postcount determines one's position in the food chain? My mistake. I thought it was income.

TGP owners crack me up. How's your day job, dipshit? Made enough money to stop using free scripts yet? Obviously not.

Find me something to read there that isn't

a) News copied and pasted from somewhere else.

or

b) Common sense.

does postcount on GFY really tell how successful you are in the business? or let me say it that way: how can you be successful when you do nothing but posting?
I bet there are lots of people around here with not more than 100 postings that have much more money than you can ever dream of.

I didn't say about the news. I've just suggested you to read some EDUCATIONAL manuals there. Ok, some examples for those who can't read English enough:
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3637&cat=42
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3760&cat=42
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3661&cat=42
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3557&cat=42
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3335&cat=42
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3305&cat=42
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3166&cat=42
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3735&cat=47
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3757&cat=47
http://www.fhgstore.com/showarticle.html?id=3694&cat=41

Are them not educational enough for you??? So whose are educational ones in such a case?..

I can see your point on not showing all your cards, but to give a tip or a pointer or two(2) eg; Don't buy traffic from this guy. ie. blah blah. That is just looking out for someone whom of which is new to earning money online.

There is a long road ahead for everyone who is just starting out! There are newbie lessons on all the time. I like to sit in as I am still after what 6 to 8 years very much wet behind my ears.
If somebody asks for some advise do you tell them to go jump, go talk to person x and leave me alone? I don't think that person will ever be back to buy what ever your selling.
Even if you cook up the finest meal in the street!

If there is a question that I feel that I can answer in some way I will spend the time where needed to help the person who asked. Each question is handled by each new webmaster can be handled differently each and every time.

Its up to you how you go about it!

FYI: Not all the people here are the posters so they may have different goals you know :winkwink:
