Changes on ARS CPM program... Sigwhores, you should read this....

You guys should check the webmaster lounge over ARS, I just saw this there:

Change in WM Referral Program regarding board sign Posted By: Becky from ARS4Real

The original intent for the WM Ref Program was not to be used as a message board sig program. However, everyone has used it for that purpose on GFY. In an attempt to correct the problem, we will be cutting the payout per CPM in half. 70% of the remaining 50% will be credited to webmasters. The remaining 30% will be credited to GFY. This change will not affect the Per Click Payout. The program and pay rates will continue unchanged for all uses other than a GFY message board sig. To receive the full payout, you must submit your URL, and will receive the full payment amount once approved. Again, this change affects ONLY GFY message board signatures, and not the standard Webmaster Referral Program.

So I guess that not only you have to wait for approval, but also you're going to be payed only 50%*70%*$5 CPM which comes down to $1.75 CPM...

Happy posting....

:thumbsup

LOL

stev0 02-27-2004 09:12 PM

figures... not very cool that they would change the rules after though. I thought ARS would have more class than that. They're getting one hell of a marketing boost out of these banners... if they change the deal now that's pretty decieving of them.

IPK 02-27-2004 09:13 PM

oh well, it's still better than nothing for a lot of people

IPK 02-27-2004 09:14 PM

i wonder when they're going to officially lower the payouts, or has it started already

If it wasn't for ppl posting in EVERY FUCKING THREAD here at GFY with 1 line replies I'm sure they wouldn't have done it...

Hell, I've never seen most of you guys with ARS in your sigs here before! And now you are everywhere and in EVERY FUCKING THREAD!!

You guys should be happy that they didn't cancelled your accounts for doing this...

$1.75 CPM is still not bad, most of the people can't find anything else worth putting in their sigs anyway :)

stev0 02-27-2004 09:18 PM

If i read that correctly it means they're going to retract funds people have already earned... Stupid, because it was their mistake (or perhaps a devious marketing ploy). But if they didn't see this comming they're pretty thick headed.

it doesn't say they're going to retract funds.

that's like saying you're going to pay $35 a signup, then when it comes time to pay, they say they are going to lower it to $25 per signup, and pay you $25 for the signups you made when you thought the payout was $35

they're just lowering the payout starting at some point

I think you didn't get it... Everything you have earned already you should multiply by 50% and then by 70%.

So, if you have made $100 so far they are going to pay you only $100*0.7*0.5 = $35

Just multiply whatever you made out of this so far by 0.35!

:thumbsup

I don't see why you are complainning? You are one of the ppl that helped them make this decision! Just look at your profile! You have an average 1.25 posts a day but if you search your posts since this program was launched you'll see that you made 30+ useless, 1 line posts EACH DAY!

I heard there going under shortly..closing there niche sites..

there chat board is full of crying webmasters being shaved to death..and there running away from there program.. again ARS is going under..and another worthless sponsor!:1orglaugh

Marc De 02-27-2004 11:22 PM

We don't play those games guys - this is not retroactive, this is moving FORWARD!

So any money earned up until now is earned... Now the new payment scheme goes into place. Also remember, this is for sig posting ONLY! We weren't expecting this to be a 'sig thing'. We will continue to pay those using the impression / click program in all other instances the rates we have been (as posted).

Those of you using us in your sig, thanks for the support :) Remember to keep your interaction of a 'normal' informative, enjoyable nature.

you're a dumbass if you didn't see this coming.

Chris E 02-28-2004 03:42 AM

THis was always going to happen. If people abuse the system the rules change... that's life. ARS calls the shots, live with it.

strobi 02-28-2004 05:02 AM

Well the deal is still sweat on all my webmasterpages... The change for GFY is a good thing and the part that they keep the payouts for real webmasterpages is sweet! thx ARS:thumbsup

doornx 02-28-2004 05:32 AM

on this page only there are like 15 ars banners..i don't find it strange the switch to lower payout...thank me later :thumbsup

Jive, I think there is a GFY Rule about making false statements. Either prove the sponsors are shaving or cheating you or shut up before you're banned.

sexsup 02-28-2004 08:58 AM

$1,75 is still a good CPM another there are also paid clicks, it is a fair offer I think

V_RocKs 02-28-2004 09:12 AM

Even at .35 on the dollar, my sig still makes me the $10 a day... so, who gives a shit?

5 per cpm was far to costly. Especially on a msg board. Even $1.75 is generous

pradaboy 02-28-2004 09:38 AM

very very very low... ARS is going on my banlist for this... expect a new sig soon :321GFY
