FYI, video is an entirely different beast. There is shooting it, then getting it online. I would not hire anyone who can now show me ALOT of quality work. Custom photo is going way of dinosaur.

This is assuming you create the traffic rather than merely redirecting it.

What starts the traffic moving, show them when they arrive, what turns them from a click to a sign up and how do we make sure they don't cancel or refund. Finally what makes the guy renew?

Traffic will always be there as long as guys want to wank and we present them with porn. Take all the porn off the net and the traffic will stop coming.

I've been a still shooter for 15 years - it's my passion, it's what I live for, it's my strength. I have shot some video and have been quite happy with the results, but it's not something that I specialize in or care to focus on right now.

It's a broadband world out there and more and more people are logging on to watch movies. But I still think there will always be a need for stills.

but most are still focused on their core biz of producing content for retail and other markets. most do not have the resources or time to do both the Internet and the traditional movie biz. Some are deciding the Net offers more promise and are putting their energies into it.

only certain movie content works well on the Net. Features don't, people want hardcore extreme gonzo on the Net not with plot lines and dialogue and lame plots and acting. just balls to the wall hardcore. if it's got a reality angle to it that's better.

studios are starting to make nice money via PPV streaming and VOD Downloads. it's a good time to be a movie studio that is cranking out gonzo.

There will always be some demand for stills. As Mutt said Fresh Photos photographer has moved out of adult, he could not make $. And he was pretty good...... He was not able to adapt with video, he was a still guy, and still is.

it's not the content, it's how you package it on your tour.

I have a lot of respect for this photographer whoever he is. It shows that he's a photographer because he loves shooting and NOT because he just wants to get fucked (like a lot of shooters that I know in this business).

but on the Web, there has got to be a video that goes along with the photosets - tease video, solo toy, behind the scenes, interview - doesn't have to be hardcore but you have to have some moving pictures to support the stills.
