I would just like to say that i think the gfy flash banners with ONLOAD sounds really suck ass.

I dont mind mouseover sounds on flash banners , but that fart banner that re-farts every 8 seconds is annoying as hell.

It wouldnt be so bad if they had the sound in a frame that was only played once , but it plays it over and over again.

Im wondering if i can rent some ad space from gfy, because i would like to rent the ad space and not promote anything, just an ad that says SMOKEY THE BEAR KICKS ASS over and over again at 100 decibals.

I like listening to music while i surf gfy. And it mixes the farting into the music. :)



Plus you know if one guy has it next week they will be having full talking banners in here .

Plus if i turn off the sound then it makes the legit banners that use mouseover instead of load sounds turn off as well.

Conclusion: not a very good solution

Our designer is fixing it right as we speak. We thought it had been fixed... sorry ;)

Use a popup remover software where you can also turn off flash animations.

That's what I do.

Now if they were clever they could do one that was cool.

Like on mouseOUT of the banner it could play a loop that waits for like a full minute or 2 of blank space and then plays a really loud announcement :)

Its actually a great banner

I like the flash i just dont like having it played on load. Flash Sounds should be played only when your mouse is over the banner , and stop as soon as your mouse has left the banner.

Its boring and not clever in any way. Its your basic fart humour. Doesnt really say much about the company at all. I suppose it gets some attention , but when im looking for a new sponsor , thats not what im looking for. :) But i wasnt commenting on the banner , just the fact it plays the sounds over and over in a loop and loud onload

At least it should be mouse over only... I had to decide that few times and in all cases we've agreed with my clients to not to use sounds... At the end, two of the current banners at GFY are sound free and they are not loosing any attention becuase of that..

it's pretty annoying... get's your attention though.. I guess that's the point

I dont think he allowed it im pretty sure there are rules about this. I think its remotely hosted.

I could fix that in about 5 minutes just send over the flash file.

That banner is annoying. I am jamming out to some music and the next thing I know ytcracker is droping ass during the middle of his tracks.
