Here's the view as of 1 pm today from my Hollywood apartment. The smoke is so thick the fiber optic cables are choking from frame and jitter errors.

I am in Santa Ana, CA now and the smoke is about 75% as thick as that.

The San Diego fire took out one of the main power lines California gets power from AZ on.

Is this close to Studio City? I have friends that live there that I havent been able to reach on the phone for three days.

Studio City is close to here and I think the smoke is worse over there in the "Valley".

I am in downtown. The smoke is as thick as that. If I am a movie director, would have shot some footage for my future film, as "doom's day" scene. :(

Studio city was somewhat better this morning, don't know why, maybe it's not in the path of the smoke.

Oh, and most of LA isn't threatened by the fire. Just the folks who have homes in the mountain/foothill areas who are near the burn areas.

Spotter_03 i'm in hollywood, too, and - i'm by beachwood and franklin and - we're not in visual distance here of any fire. it's dark, smoky, and the sun is dark and red.

I heard smoke is so bad in San Diego that it looks like Riverside, CA normally does.

I'm on hollywood blvd. a bit west of la brea.

The sky is definitely EXTRA CHUNKY and the sun very spooky and red. Perfect for Halloween--no so good for lungs.
