Bitcoin for payments
Do you use bitcoins for work? How common are they in the industry?
Or is everyone just talking about them? :1orglaugh |

I wish all sponsors paid in Bitcoin because when you're paid in USD/cash you have incentive to spend it asap, because everyday you hold you lose purchasing power for your $$$$, while Bitcoin is a savings tech designed to increase with time (and the inevitable inflation)
|
Interesting question. I've not used BTC yet, but I am willing to accept crypto as a payment method for my writing services if some client would like to pay in BTC or ETH.

I use Bitcoin to get payments only, cuz nothing goes wrong with Bitcoin wallets. other platforms may block your account for some weird reasons. |

That will definitely change in the next couple of years. The pandemic contributes a lot to that!

Now waiting for BTC from Chaturbate for 1st time!
|
In principle, we can also pay in crypto on our adult dating network.

I'm getting paid by a couple of programs in BTC. CB and Stripcash. Just collecting it for now, no where to spend it yet.

The volatility alone makes it impractical and possibly dangerous. |
Do you know what exchange rate are programs using when they pay with BTC? Because each exchange/broker has a different price.
It would be great if they could pay with USDT, which is a stable coin. That way you don't risk getting paid let's say 1000 dollars in BTC and having 700 dollars a few hours later. Yes I know some people will say that we have FIAT mentality but it is what it is. |
I'm using more and more, today i paid for hosting and domain reg in bitcoin (porkbun)...

Some see a savings technology as danger, others (me) see it as highly profitable & VERY convenient. Remember, lots of us have lost with Epassport, Paxum & Payoneer account closures, foreign check fees, wire fees, & delays from all of these. |
I've been paying out in Bitcoin lately to the people that asks. So far so good.
And I was able to find a merchant solution for crypto payments the other day. Will be adding that to our premium programs. Crypto just scares me some because of the regulations that will be coming in the future and knowing so little about this info showing up on blockchain and what the government is doing with that. |

BTC is not ideal because there's a public record of every transfer ever made that the entire world can freely see and the BTC network itself can only process so many transactions per block. The only way to scale it is increase compute capacity, which with bitcoin is an insane amount of electricity and servers already. |

BTC isn't going anywhere. The crypto that many governments have issue with are the ones that have anonymity built into their protocols like Monero. They cite money laundering as the reasons why. Other coins with public ledgers that aren't just the creators trying to fundraise a bunch of money and pocket it are fine. Cardano (ADA) is even being talked about as an alternative in Africa where the currencies are too volatile. They are thinking about even using it as the official government currency. |
