Clawfinger - Two sides

...............................................
There's nothing a god can give to me that I can't give to myself
I put my beliefs in the things I believe and a god can take care of himself
There's not enough love in the world for me to think about wasting my time
It's not that I don't believe at all but I don't need a heavenly sign
I can achieve the things I need without getting down on my knees
I can respect your religion but I don't want to pay your fees
I don't want to hear you talk about the things you think that I need
so don't help me back on my feet again until you can hear me plead
Just look in the holy book of crooks and tell me what you can find
All the rules and the regulations made to manipulate your mind
Don't pretend that you're blind just open your mind and study historical times
The bigger the loss the bigger the cost the bigger the cross and its crimes

I don't believe in a god that I need to worship
I don't believe that I need to get down on my knees
I don't believe that a voice from above can help me
I only believe in what I can see and the things that I can achieve

Whatever belief you belong to there's still always a reason to doubt
and there's always another opinion as to what life is all about
There's always a bigger dimension and a different point of view
so I don't want to try to change you that decision is up to you
Whatever your final choice is and however you choose to live

You'd better be happy for what you can get and happy for what you can give
There's only one thing to remember there is only one thing you can do
and that is to do unto others as you'd have others do unto you

Ever listen to a basic Roman catholic mass. They use the word 'sheep', 'shepard', 'week', 'poor', and 'unworthy' to describe themselves in song and praise. Does anyone else think their is no difference between the church and cult except for acceptance and power?

In the words of George Carlin, "I worship Joe Peshi".

Libertine 05-11-2003 05:07 PM

Frankly, I just don't care. If there was a God up there, would it make a difference to me? No. So, the question is irrelevant.

It's all regarding what happens after life.

But why would that make a difference? Assuming there is a God, can you read his mind, know what he believes is right and wrong? No, unless you believe the dogma's of a specific religious group, in which case you are blindly believing one thing out of thousands of possibilities. So, the matter is irrelevant. Even if there is a God, it doesn't change my course of action.

I have my own religion:

My paradise?

Success on life and bussines.

The mandatories of this religion?

1º Love you familly and friends
2º Work as hard hard as you can, life is for hard workers not for lazy guys.
3º Be honest and get yourself a good name.
4º Help the others, you don't know if the small guy you're helping will be bigger than you in the future.
5º Try to get a balance betwen your body and mental health and growth.
6º Be positive, getting stronger from low moral moments.
7º Learn from your mistakes and from the others, everybody have something to teach you, even the fools.
8º Be humble, there are always somebody better than you.

It's easy to underestand, not as easy to acomplish.

LOL not read at any book, just my life's experience, but seems everybody needs to find a new religion and a fake powerfull god that runs your destine insted of just doing the basics things that are the key to success. But yeah, it's easier just to belive that if you don't have the expected success it's because your god doesn't want it insted of that you are just a lazy looser.

Why would or should success be important?
